I had the honor of covering this generation from start to finish of pro careers—the sport's a different world now—and this truly is the end of an era. Press, Riley, Barnes + Morgan/Sauerbrunn before. The one-club career for 13 years, the 200+ international cap club. We won't see much of that again.

The next generation has to find their fight. They couldn't have two better role models in how to find it then Ali Riley and Christen Press.

I think the reason it would be difficult legally is precisely because US law isn’t as conceptually clean as you’ve sketched it here (as witness e.g. criminal restitution and civil punitive damages), if that makes sense?

I will also say, as a Jewish person who sees a lot of people on the left in both America and England *do discourse,* when an issue like this comes up you can absolutely tell that people on the left in England have significantly less exposure to Jewish people than Americans.
