I’m actually so sick of oscillating between maybe it’s perimenopause while I’m sweating through the night (even though my labs say no) but maybe it’s pmdd when I’m miserable and manic for a week every month or maybe it’s just the general collapse of the world around us. Mobility = longevity. I used to work out because I hated my body and was conditioned to believe I needed to torture myself into skinny. Now I’m focused on retaining mobility and quality of life so I don’t spend my golden years decrepit AND obnoxious

To be clear, I’m not saying it’s some exclusive club. In fact, real Pilates is the opposite - it is for every body. I’m a snob, not a mean girl.

I regret to admit that I have become a classical Pilates snob. I’m not proud of it but you can’t just slap Pilates on the sign and magically make it so, and the history and origin of the practice is so fascinating and important to understanding why it works.
