What'd the medical term for a meltdown? (previously it had only happened in January-march)

I think it's certainly anxiety related. He's very anxious but in such a dad way (ie, grumpy, controlling, angry) that I realised last year it was anxiety.

Anyone come across this sort of thing?

My dad (76) has this thing where every 3 months ago he has tremendous shivers. This tends to come on when he has guests at home, or is busy/stressed. He shivers uncontrollably for an hour, has to go to bed with a hot water bottle, then he's exhausted. Dr said allergy to pollen, which is bollocks.
