Finished Taylor Jenkins Reid's "Atmosphere" this morning. My favourite novel of the past year and maybe one of my favourites of all time, fantastic work on the Audiobook.

Been having a good time with Final Fantasy XVI, but it's been an inconsistent experience. Love the spectacle and the gameplay, less enthusiastic about the fetch quest and dragging pace in between the big moments.

My friends and I had a gamejam yesterday. We have something in a playable state but going to keep picking away before we potentially publish anything. Here are a few sprites I'm happy with from the day #gamedev #pixelart

My mouse has been acting up and double clicking lately, so I googled the problem and a reddit post from 3 years ago popped up. It said to press the buttons really hard, shake the mouse, and blow underneath it. Sounded foolish but I tried it and now it's good as new. Bless up old Reddit post.

Been playing through Final Fantasy XVI over the break, the boss fight music against Typhon is my favourite fight theme in a longggggg time.

Tonight's update on learning Aseprite. Been fun getting a hang of the program. I used to do oil painting so it's been fun transferring over some skill from that to create images digitally. Going to be sinking more time into it over the break and hopefully start on a game soon. #gamedev #pixelart

Did some more work with Aseprite tonight, checked out a few tutorials earlier and things are starting to click! Working on backgrounds and landscapes feels less daunting than it did before #pixelart #gamedev

Played a lot of Brotato this weekend where it was free on Epic. Lots of fun but definitely frustrating to lose a good run.

Saw the Godot engine logo after finishing Case Of The Golden Idol, looked into some videos and actually feeling pretty inspired.

I took some Computer Science in university but never stuck with it, may try sinking some time into Godot over Christmas to see if it clicks

Been playing through and loving The Case of The Golden Idol, I believe I remember seeing @jasonschreier.bsky.social recommend it. Hoping to finish tonight then dive into the DLC and sequel!

Just finished Metaphor: Refantazio, excellent all around. I didn't realize the Persona team was making it so it sort of came out of nowhere for me, I'm very excited to see what they come up with next. It's been a great year for RPGs.
