If you can't protest tomorrow, you can do other things:
- call your reps
- donate to orgs like the ACLU, Indivisible, etc
- be protest support (be the one people call if they're arrested, offer water/first aid, etc)
- write an op-ed for your local paper

...and so much more. We can all contribute!

@samknight.bsky.social's #writingtips for new authors: Don't be a "gatekeeper." Don't exclude other writers, readers, or anyone. There are enough spiteful gatekeepers already. Instead, be supportive, encouraging, and understanding. At the very least, just let others have their fandom.

I just tried to apply for a passport, which I have to do as a new applicant because my last passport expired so long ago. The passport application form has been taken offline. This feels chilling.
