Appeals Court Rules Against Many Trump Tariffs
Good:
A federal appeals court ruled on Friday that many of President Trumpβs most punishing tariffs are illegal, delivering a major new setback to the administration that may severely undercut its primary source of leverage in an expanding global trade war.

SCOTUS: Whoa there, that is, uh, a major question. Which means you can't do it.

I get the sentiment but the βthis bombing of Iran is unconstitutionalβ narrative isnβt a winner. Why would this be more illegal than U.S. bombing Yemen (which weβve done plenty) or any other strikes? We havenβt declared war since WWII.

Hegseth Orders Navy to Strip Name of Gay Rights Icon Harvey Milk from Ship
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has ordered the Navy to take the rare step of renaming a ship, one that bears the name of a gay rights icon, documents and sources show.
Cruelty is the point. From the article: The Navy was making preparations to strip the ship of its name but noted that Navy Secretary John Phelan was ordered to do so by Hegseth. The official also said that the timing of the announcement -- occurring during Pride month -- was intentional.

Hitler called universal education "the most corroding and disintegrating poison". He appointed Education Minister Bernard Rust, to ensure Nazi racial theories were integrated in university curriculums.

Presidential endorsements of Supreme Court reform-especially from Trumpβ significantly shift public support and voting intentions along partisan lines, demonstrating that elite cues powerfully shape attitudes on court legitimacy and reform. Biden has a much smaller influence.

Screenshot of the abstract from the article βThe Power of Presidential Partisanship: Going Public on Court Reformβ by Rogol, Fleming, and Montgomery, published in Presidential Studies Quarterly (2025). The abstract summarizes a survey experiment showing that presidential endorsements of Supreme Court term limits significantly shape public support and voting intentions, with effects polarized by partisanship and strongest when endorsed by Donald Trump.
With Trump's frustrated late night social media rants about his losses in the courts lately, you might be asking - can presidents move public opinion on Court reforms? Our newest open access publication (link below) finds that β¬οΈ
