"doesn't rush the romance" ended up being an understatement from my pov - right to the end of the final episode I was left waiting for the romance to begin🙂. I gave it 9/10, one of most progressive and intelligent #cDrama I've watched, very glad I watched it, although it was not what I expected

If you can, check out the #twDrama original it's based on. I watched Sunshine first &ended up disappointed that it never really sold the romantic relationship at all. I enjoyed it, but more for what it said about female empowerment in modern China. #MyDearBoy otoh, really was a jie-didi romance

Yep, ditto my favourite Aussie #kDrama actor Kim So Hyun. I started following her back in 2013 (whoever managed her Twitter returned the favour) by when she'd already racked up a staggering amount of work

I've LONG been a bigger fan of Asha than of her didi, who was way past her prime by the time I got into Hindi films of the 90s. so 'tere liye' was a revelation for me, showing what could happen if music and lyrics matched her then age instead of what she used to sound like

After 4 episodes of #jDrama #WhyIDressUpForLove I still didn't care about any of the characters, didn't find any of them sympathetic or even interesting, so it's sayonara time

One thing about #cDrama #LovesAmbition that intrigued me was the title of the source novel "Qiao's daughters". I loved their bond, and would have liked to see a more substantial wrap for the family dynamic than a miraculously chastened parental pair turn up with cash. ESPECIALLY because

Yep VERY common in both #cDrama and #kDrama - and extra annoying when the OTP works as well as this one. Besides Ms Zhao's very unfortunate crises then, the business crimes filler did give the chance for some "China's justice system is awesome" flagwaving, perhaps meeting a 'moral/social' quota

So very much this! I get the fear - I've seen soggy sweet HEAs that were too long, but there was so much room for substantive positivity. They could have given the entire final episode to family, friends, and fun. Overall a minor niggle, but confirmation bias for my bias against >30 ep #cDrama
