01.02.2026 07:34 β π 171 π 130 π¬ 12 π 14Left: France to ditch US platforms citing security concerns
Right: UK gives billions to US platforms
France, in the EU, is investing in their sovereignty
UK, outside the UK, is giving away our sovereignty
Suella Braverman, "There is a very strong case to increase the powers of any immigration enforcement officers that we deploy"
"At the moment they're hamstrung by human rights laws, by health and safety laws, by all sorts of needless and obstructive bureaucracy"
The media should cover sport the way they cover the state murder of civilians:
βJannik Sinner appeared to win the French Open yesterday after what supporters say was a comeback from being two sets down.β
Thank God there were people filming. This administration would have said Alex Pretti pulled a handgun, a package of fentanyl, and a signed copy of the Communist Manifesto if they could.
25.01.2026 19:10 β π 25880 π 4123 π¬ 399 π 109I can't trust politicians who are anti-trans. Not because I'm "only searching for perfection" which is what centrists will be accusing me of for the rest of my life, it's because if you're not pro-trans you'll be garbage on lots of other issues too. Being anti-trans NEVER exists in a vacuum.

29.12.2025 17:41 β π 175 π 21 π¬ 7 π 0Good interview in the paper, this. I think Sadiq is right: London 'needs' to be less successful than it is for a bunch of political arguments here in the UK to work, hence the fictions being invented about it:

But the US (less-TERF) desk did thanks to @joolia.bsky.social: "[Trump 2.0] demonstrates the weaknesses of Harrisβ brand of feminism, even as it precipitated crises in every aspect of life that demand a feminist response" www.theguardian.com/world/2025/f...

24.12.2025 15:29 β π 728 π 80 π¬ 14 π 3Wrote up my predictions for 2026.
-I think 2025 will have been rock bottom.
-The Trump coalition is going to panic and fall to infighting as election day draws closer.
-The AI bubble will get even more obviously bubbly.
-We'll begin the long road to repair.

Maybe the main thing that gets me; trans people are such a tiny minority that if the 1st through say, 15th things you think/say/(God forbid post) about them arenβt variations on βHow can I help them out?β you are genuinely going out of your way to be weird and mean.
17.12.2025 13:39 β π 552 π 65 π¬ 8 π 1The political desire to define women solely in terms of their reproductive capacity is, and always has been, a way to control their bodies. This is why affirming trans rights is also affirming womenβs rights. Feminism disrupts patriarchal logics that seek to police people according to their biology.

The world's richest 0.001% now control 3x as much wealth as the entire bottom half of humanity combined.
56,000 wealthy individuals have more than roughly 4 billion people.
Read that back.
"This is a moment that requires bravery in standing up for right. Organisations that value trans people should know not just that the law is on their side β but so, also, are many people who will step up to defend them if they have the courage to take a stand." www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

People with a different religion, cry.
Not every face is white, cry.
Women don't want them because they are awful, cry.
People don't want to work for slave wages, cry.
Cry, cry, cry, cry.
βMental health services should be places of refuge, not risk, and equality protections must strengthen, not erode, the conditions that enable people to feel safe and supported.β
Itβs good to see more organisations speak out against politics that degrade trans peopleβs safety, health, and wellbeing.
I think Transactual put it best (in reference to the girl guides) and now Labour too:
"There is no problem being solved here, only harm being done."
All to appease the right, who hate them anyway - shame on them.
"I spoke to one 80-year-old woman who has been in our organisation for decades, who said it was one of the greatest experiences of her life, and the only place in her 80 years where sheβs been treated as a woman with respect.β
What does this do for women's rights?

Girlguiding was always so wonderfully trans inclusive and this development is truly chilling. Sending solidarity to the trans community. We love you! AMNESTY FEMINISTS
With so much abuse from cis men still covered up , with so much misogyny rife , with anti trans activists starting to turn towards abortion rights - well done to all the bigots who decided relentless abuse of trans kids was the solution #translives

βNow the guidance has been withdrawn, so should the exclusionary policies that organisations rashly implemented in its aftermath. If not, they could find themselves in hot water.β
βEveryday activities like going to a public bathroom or going swimming with your friends has suddenly become an area riddled with anxiety, uncertainty and risk.β
@uglastefania.bsky.social reminds us how the British government is making public spaces hostile to trans and gender non-conforming folks.
So much talk of economics and far right radicalisation but my increasingly view is we are all - myself included - underestimating the impact of both internet culture and (more importantly) the economics of the internet/social media on politics and radicalisation
