Sad that Albert Molinaro, who played Al Delvecchio in Happy Days, died on Henry Winklerโ€™s birthday in 2015 (although Al had lived to the ripe old age of 96).

There's a moment when using a screwdriver to prise something open or cutting the wrong way with a sharp blade, you know your going to impale yourself but you carry on regardless until it happens, the English language needs a word for this

My Mum bought these when she waved me off to Uni at Grimsby Station. She probably wanted to check Iโ€™d finally gone so she could have a rest from the extra washing and cooking. That said, she did once bring a food parcel for me to a Barry Manilow gig at the Apollo when I was living in Whalley Range.

Luckily for us, Lord Stockwood of Nunsthorpe convinced David that Cleethorpes was the place for him and here we are now, 3rd in League Two and still in the FA Cup and the League Cup. UTM!

His spell at Crewe turned out to be very successful, but he left after the club sold his best players following promotion to Division One. His time at Crewe was not forgotten though and after decided to return to football after a sabbatical, a number of clubs were still interested in his signature.

โ€ฆJust looking back at the details of that day and it turns out that the day was a more significant day in the future of Grimsby Town than we could ever had imagined. A promising young coach called David Artell had just been appointed as Crewe manager the month before and this was his first winโ€ฆ

Looking forward to our trip to Crewe on Saturday, Iโ€™m reminded of the miserable afternoon in February 2017 that we spent there, watching the Mariners lose 5-0. It was the day that saw Marcus Bignot come back out after the game to address the Town fans (fair play to him)โ€ฆ

I thought people opposing Gary Neville were upstanding citizens with legitimate concerns. Shocked to hear that these stout fellows are members of a far right movement.

This is one of the most wrong opinions to ever appear on Anon Opin. Before we even start to consider the thousands of artists who have released better tracks than the two mentioned, even Tears For Fears and Crowded House have released better tracks. Utter nonsense.

RIP Diane Keaton, always one of my favourite actors. Appeared to be such a genuine person too. She was also a great narrator, Iโ€™m currently listening to her narrate Joan Didionโ€™s Slouching Towards Bethlehem audiobook. Well worth a listen.

โ€œItโ€™s a low level mistake, but stillโ€ฆโ€ Jimmy Mulville in no way trying to play down the fact that his programme made wholly false claims about a government contract being awarded to a relative of a senior Labour figure. I wouldnโ€™t have described false allegations of corruption a โ€˜low level mistakeโ€™.

I think True Blue must be the best. I only know the five singles from it but two of them are great (Live To Tell and Papa Donโ€™t Preach) and the other three are very good (Open Your Heart, La Isla Bonita and True Blue).

Mine are older and have similar โ€˜old schoolโ€™ tastes but they also appear to know quite a lot about modern mainstream stuff even though they donโ€™t listen to it, so your son might know more than you think.

Iโ€™ll believe it when I hear/see it. So, far heโ€™s done nothing but play to Farageโ€™s tune.

EPA reorganization sparks fears of โ€˜political interferenceโ€™ โ€œToday is day one of the new EPA,โ€ Administrator Lee Zeldin said. Union officials say the revamp is meant to intimidate scientists and undermine science.

A reorganization at EPA is sparking fears of "political interference."

Mason is either being disingenuous in an attempt to discredit Ed Daveyโ€™s entirely reasonable comments, or cannot recognise the difference between an accusation of having actually done something and a suggestion that they might as well have done that thing. Either way, he should be shown the door.

For a laugh, when this was repeated earlier, my wife called me into the living room to watch, knowing full well that I would become enraged by Mason, who knows that Davey didnโ€™t say the BBC actually cut and paste Reform content, just that they might as well do so, the snivelling grovelling idiot.

Did you hear her husband, though? He said something like โ€œWeโ€™re not racist, we only went on the march to show our pride in being Britishโ€ but then said โ€œItโ€™s worrying though that someone as far-right as Tommy Robinson can attract so many peopleโ€ wtf?

Just had the misfortune to watch the BBC 6 oโ€™clock news headlines. I am now genuinely concerned that Chris Mason is on Reformโ€™s payroll and working undercover at the BBC.

It isnโ€™t though, is it? Itโ€™s effectively a coalition between those previously on the right wing of the Tory party and those who would have previously voted UKIP or BNP.

There is an issue to discuss here but the discussion is cheapened by sensationalism. 1) It was not โ€œZackโ€™s partyโ€ when this decision was made, and 2) the planned affordable housing is still going ahead but through a Housing Association, the headline suggests the project had been scrapped.

10.09.2025 13:21 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 0    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Two points perhaps worth considering. 1) This is from almost a year ago, and although I canโ€™t be sure, I donโ€™t think Polanskiโ€™s leadership was made retrospective. 2) The decision appears to be that an affordable housing project was still agreed but by a Housing Association rather than the council.

Anyone interviewed Laure Ferrariโ€™s conveyancing solicitors (like they did with Raynerโ€™s) to find out how she passed the Anti Money Laundering checks and proved the source of funds were hers? If Farage paid for it, heโ€™d already declared himself the beneficial owner in the press - so an implied trust!

08.09.2025 08:13 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 175    ๐Ÿ” 71    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 9    ๐Ÿ“Œ 8

The government has done some good things in its first year but also some not so good things and is letting Farage set the tone by chasing the Reform vote. Labour should be challenging the tiresome Reform narrative on immigration and be leading a progressive coalition of the left/centre left/centre.

โ€ฆ I have just read a very interesting piece about how he appears to have avoided stamp duty, so you might want to start with that one. If you suggest that Farage isnโ€™t such a prominent figure, then why do you give him such prominence otherwise. Thank you.

Can you please explain to me why you are treating Angela Raynerโ€™s personal tax affairs as a major story, when you donโ€™t appear to be interested in the tax affairs of other political figures such as Nigel Farageโ€ฆ

In althabetical orderโ€ฆ

The Jam
REM
Steely Dan
Super Furry Animals
XTC

This could be different if I did this again tomorrow or if I gave it further thought but these 5 would always be be in my top 10 for sure.
