Ginger and black treacle scones. I’m always pleased with these and they taste so good! The recipe makes 8, when rolled out quite thickly and I only used 4 tbs milk plus baked @ 200°C. #baking #scones #vegetarian

Multi-seeded sourdough crumb shot showing the open texture, seeds and sage. I was especially pleased with the oven spring on this loaf. Heating my cast iron bread pan up for the full hour at 240°C certainly made a lot of difference to the final loaf. Looking forward to a tasting at tonight’s tea!

My take on Speltotto (risotto but using wheat). For my version I used black wheat, red pepper, celery, garlic, red onion, tomato, tomato purée, vegetable stock, chestnut and morel mushrooms plus oregano. This is delicious and a great alternative to using rice. #cooking #vegetarian #vegan

Thanks! I preheated the oven with the cast iron bread pan in it for 45 minutes. I had cut the time to 30 minutes but it really needs an hour so that the sourdough achieves more oven spring. 1 hour next bake. Still learning after 12 years of sourdough making and 45 years of bread baking!
