I’ve just finished #OldSkies.
At @developconference.com I spoke to @wadjeteyegames.bsky.social (while we queued for ice cream) about a certain bit (no spoilers) in it that made me a bit sad.
Today I cried 😭 at the end.
I’ve been a gamer since 1978.
Only one other game made me cry: #TheLastGuardian

You’ve always made it clear that your work is about young people being horny and dumb (hence the title), so it shouldn’t come as any surprise when your characters act that way. Personally, I’ve followed your work since 2002 and I ain’t stopping now. Your instincts haven’t steered you wrong yet.

Here's an example of how I'm combining multiple elements that I like from my thumbnail sketches when I'm laying out my full compositions. The scene ended up mainly being a combination of sketches 3 & 4, with little bits of the other sketches thrown in here and there.

My review of Old Skies on Steam. The text is as follows: RECOMMENDED Wadjet Eye Games have produced yet another excellent adventure game, and this one manages the very difficult task of on one hand telling a coherent story about time travel whilst still ensuring players care about the main characters, even as everything changes about them. Sally Beaumont is masterful as the protagonist Fia, beautifully conveying how her travels back and forth through different events subtly make her question her role as a time agent without it simply resorting to the obvious 'big bad' trope that many other narratives of this kind would. The dialogue is smart, the puzzles intuitive, and the tooltips help to add depth to the world around you. All in all, I thoroughly recommend it.
