21.11.2025 23:57 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Hmmm, idk. This sounds like something a villain masquerading as an author would say to get us all to agree with them. π€
21.11.2025 19:41 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Everyone probably already knows this, but Cory Doctorow is hilarious!
Iβd heard his name and the term enshittification before, but Internet Archiveβs book talk was the first time I heard him speak.
Glad I got to attend live.
I loved this booktalk. I canβt wait for the recording.

19.11.2025 23:33 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I respect this position despite being paper and ink for life.
Iβve noticed the benefits of ebooks when it comes to reading in French because I need to look up definitions more frequently and I can stay in context while searching.
Youβre welcome! I have a feeling youβll like it.
18.11.2025 04:10 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Cover of The Waning by Wunmi Aramiji. Black womanhood with a headdress covering her face standing in front of golden sun on a black backdrop. The character wears a veil that covers their eyes. The veil looks like the night sky with stars.
Now reading The Waning by Wunmi Aramiji.
The authorβs note alone has me in my feelings. π₯Ή
Pagebound is cool because itβs a forum mixed with book tracking. Each book has a forum (think Reddit) where you can discuss the books with others. Then thereβs also a space where you can leave reviews (separate from the active discussion). Bc itβs dedicated to books, I get more interaction there.
18.11.2025 03:12 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Iβm grateful for whoever coined the term "mood reader" because yes, itβs me. Lol
I have about 4 books going right now. Iβm not always the best about finishing them, but Iβve been more intentional lately.
Are you on Pagebound? Itβs my fav book app. (Iβm not affiliated. I just love it.)
Drip drip water sounds like a childrenβs book.
18.11.2025 01:06 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0because itβs all a scam where they hope you forget so they can charge you forever and ever.
17.11.2025 22:48 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I have often felt that Americans, which includes myself, have a habit of entertaining ourselves to death. Amusement is such a huge part of our lives, and it interferes with us doing the necessary but uncomfortable thing. I didnβt narrow it to humor though, which is interesting to think about.
17.11.2025 22:40 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Maybe Gideon is preparing for the role of Mufasa. It will be riveting.
17.11.2025 17:22 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Iβve read Dark Matter, Recursion, Upgrade and Pines. Dark Matter and Recursion are my favs. Pines was good but it threw me for a loop that I havenβt recovered from lol. Upgrade, I couldβve done without.
Overall, I like his writing style and his stories. I love being on the edge of my seat.
This book is in my top 5. I did not expect to get so caught up in it.

Backstreetβs back alright!

Itβs weird how all the "hot" businesses cultivate selfish, obsessive and addictive behaviors. Social media, betting, private equity. Hoarding, endless scrolling, risk taking that then escalate to violence.
15.11.2025 21:43 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0This is exactly how itβs gonna go. Lol
15.11.2025 00:58 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0The concept is chilling enough, but then they made the ad like a trailer to a horror film with the upbeat but somehow chilling music and the eerie way they look at the screen.
15.11.2025 00:57 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I can see that. Things get complicated fast when you interfere with time. I generally like the premise and all of the fallout from interfering with time. Even when itβs not tidy, there are interesting things to ponder.
I suck at plotting though, so thereβs that. π
Wait, why the time travel story hate?
