Scientists Tune In to the Ocean’s Sound Waves - Eos A new technique detects inaudible acoustic signals from crashing waves, opening up possibilities for monitoring sea and atmospheric conditions from shore.

Scientists have found a way to identify individual crashing waves using infrasound—acoustic waves with frequencies below the threshold of human hearing.
