It’s never discussed around ideas of ‘people stop listening to new music after x age’ that the majority of music marketing doesn’t target new music to anyone older than 25. Or, that new artists are getting progressively younger over time. So, yeah, of course casual listening habits look like that.

Alan Moore has a good quote about how conspiracy theories are comfort blankets. But, I also think he misses a step. The world is rudderless, but the tides of power and pain pull it in a lot of directions. It’s not a conspiracy, it’s compulsions born from crimes over centuries - echoing on and on.
