π€£ππ€£ Red card for Lubo!

The football has been fucking bollocks. For me that's the crux of it then add in a myriad of other things too. Surely you can understand why that's got a lot of fans upset?
But you never give a fucking inch on that - whatever happens Slot is completely blameless. And you call other people extreme!
27.02.2026 00:56 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0
Lubo if we win the CL Slot will get a new contract, I'll gladly say he deserved it and I'll hope he can get the team playing good football next season.
But just on the eye test alone I have no clue how you seriously believe he's the man to lead us next season. This season has been a shit show.

Criticising the recruitment.
Criticising the players isn't wise. Even if you think it's fair game because its true - it's def not good for team spirit/player loyalty.
Once you start criticising the record level of summer recruitment - which he will have signed off on - I'd say it's a bad sign.
27.02.2026 00:21 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0
Absolutely. Doesn't stop him though. Criticising staff is next level though. Bad move Slot
27.02.2026 00:05 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0
If this is true he's deliberately causing trouble within the club. It's like Hughes coming out and criticising the manager for match day decisions. He doesn't because Slot would be massively pissed off.
27.02.2026 00:03 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0
If what he's said is true then Slot is gone. It's one thing to throw his own players under the bus, but not staff in other departments. Doing either is bad - not a good look.

Klopp got a 6 yr deal at the end of his 1st season. He didn't win anything & didn't qualify for CL.
Slot won the PL in his 1st season & still no new deal. He'll probably have to win the CL to get one.
I don't think he's solely responsible but he's more responsible than you'll admit.
Good to chat.

Sometimes the obvious answer can be staring you in the face too.
No matter what statistic you can come up with there will always be another to use against you. Mine is just my opinion based on what I've watched.
Loyalty is good but I think you might be in denial when it comes to Slot.
25.02.2026 19:49 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0
Revolutionary managers are rare so it's poss that he over-performed in the 1st half of last season & since Feb we've seen what his actual performance is.
My concern is he has already peaked. If he doesn't know how to get the best out of v expensive players, should be be trusted to build a new team?
25.02.2026 18:52 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0
If you don't think Slot is responsible for the poor performance of the team then I don't know what to tell you.
My overall take on Slot - he's done brilliantly but is not a revolutionary manager. Few are. If he was then he'd be setting the trends/the style/the tactics etc - not reacting to them.
25.02.2026 18:52 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0
My point is not only is LFC not scoring enough they are also conceding a high amount of goals.
If the amount of goals scored across the league is down then why is this?
Slot is responsible for the performance of the team - many players have under-performed and the team definitely has.
25.02.2026 18:10 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0
I didn't say it had to start at zero but by showing the data in that way it does exaggerate the fall.
The graph shows that the scoring from open play has fallen.
If that isn't you trying to infer that Slot isn't to blame for the low amount of goals scored by LFC this season what is your point?
25.02.2026 18:10 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0
Any y-axis that doesn't start at zero is somewhat misleading because it exaggerates.
You are inferring the league is poor, teams are scoring more set plays, less from open play, not Slot's fault.
My point is the LFC has under-performed - scoring less, conceding more, definitely Slot's fault
25.02.2026 16:29 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0
Dodgy y-axis scale aside:
Do these stats mean 42 goals scored is actually really good?
Or is it 35 goals conceded is actually really good?
Or is it a goal difference of +7 id actually really good?
Or is it all three of these are pretty bad but none of them are Slot's fault because... The league?
25.02.2026 16:13 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0
Plus the team's physicality and intensity has fallen off a cliff.
Slot has taken it too far the other way. Not to mention the painfully slow style of play, slow starts to most matches etc etc etc
24.02.2026 20:03 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0
Apparently the training intensity is less. Players gain fitness in matches - fine if you play enough and/or don't get injured. How do you gain match fitness if you don't play though?
Klopp trained them harder than in matches. Psychologically I can see why that works better. Players can't slack off
24.02.2026 18:03 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0
I think Isak and Wirtz were bought to compensate for any drop off from Salah. Clearly no one saw his drop off happening so quickly though.
For me the biggest issue has been a lack of fitness/physicality from the entire team. It became apparent from Feb/March last year and has got steadily worse.
24.02.2026 16:46 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0
I saw your original post about the Szoboszlai change. It made a huge difference in the direction the game went in over the course of the second half.
Rio did well again coming on so definite signs that he is progressing as a player.
But you can't ignore how ineffective the team was for 89 minutes.

Slot will probably complain they've had too many days off and lost rhythm.
Liverpool have been terrible in a lot of first halves this season but that is probably the worst. Somehow not losing though so you never know.
Yet another totally unacceptable half of football though whatever happens.
22.02.2026 15:02 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0
This is why Slot should go. If it was a one off you can accept it. But it's a clear pattern and I'd argue it's a tactic.
Not "play as bad as you possibly can."
But something like "sit back, be compact and try and hit them on the break."
Whatever he's telling them it's completely unacceptable.

This has been particularly terrible though. I wonder what the excuse will be this time. Too many days off?
