my children say I was born in 19s or the 1900s & they’re not trying to be funny. tried explaining I was barely born in 1900s. it doesn’t matter.

they know I’m friends/collegial with folks in elected office/government so when they learn abt historical figures they ask if I knew them in the 19s.

It’s always been a little uncomfortable for me when people compliment my smile bc my teeth + lack of dental insurance for most of my life have made it feel like I’m walking around with a mouthful of tiny bombs waiting to blow up my quality of life or bank account or both.

Since we’re all friends here, I’ll admit… I have lingering dentist trauma from the late 90s/early ‘00s. Back in the old days when we were operating under more of a “pull now, ask questions later” kind of vibe.

We, the blessed four, all got our charts to fill out at 7. Filled it out too fast and now I’m back to trying to distract myself from my dentist-phobia by shouting into the void on the internet. 📢🫠
