I'm reading A.B. Poranek's "Where the Dark Stands Still" and I barely read anything about it before grabbing it from the library, but I'm pretty sure I'm in a Slavic Beauty & the Beast, and I'm having a great time!💙📚

If sitting down to write feels scary (terrifying, even), before you begin, breathe deeply for several minutes. In for 3 seconds and out for 6 (or in 4 and out 8) and remind yourself that you're safe. Settle into the idea that it's time to write and try again. What you have to say matters.

An example of mayonnaise on something I never expected: a completo! 🌭 It's a hot dog. But instead of like...cheese or chili (haha) or relish, a Completo Italiano has tomatoes, palta (avocado), mayo, and ketchup. Have I mentioned Chile has the best bread in the world?

Note from an expat in Chile: Chileans put mayo on everything. Sometimes I'm like, "Hey, cool, I never thought of that," and other times, I'm like 🤔👀🙃 and wonder about the sanity of those around me. At least it's always an adventure.

I . . . think I should change my reading goal for next year.😅 I upped it for 2025, but I was still trying to give myself a realistic goal of maybe a couple books or so a month. I seem to be reading WAY more and faster than that. #booksky💙📚
