Card with purple border, that says "I have autonomic dysfunction. My autonomic system is faulty, affecting: breathing, heart rate (HR) blood pressure (BP), digestion, temperature control, sweating, “fight or flight”, bladder, bowel, and more.
This can cause many symptoms including abnormal BP/HR, dizziness, fainting, tremors, fatigue, pain, brain fog, and breathing and digestive problems.
Symptoms are variable and may be made worse by anything affecting this system, including: eating, standing, sitting up, reaching up or bending, temperature changes, bright lights, loud noises, and stress.
There is no known cure for my type of autonomic dysfunction, it is my normal."
Card with striped border and dizzy stickman sat on the floor. "I have postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (PoTS). My autonomic nervous system is faulty so my blood flow and heart rate don't adjust well to postural changes or heat. It can cause brain fog, fatigue, weakness, and affect vision and digestion too. I may faint or become semiconscious. I can't stand for long, I fidget. It is not life threatening by may mean I suddenly need to sit or lie down. (see the back of this card for more info on my symptoms and management)
Card with stickman with ball and chains to ankles and wrists, stuck on a sofa looking exhausted. test "My fatigue is currently severe. I must rest to manage my symptoms. Fatigue is affecting my ability to think, speak, eat, and control my muscles, I cannot concentrate, make decisions, or move about safely. Even sitting may worsen symptoms." Copyright Stickman Communications 2025.
Lying down card with striped border, reading: Sometimes I lie down to manage a medical condition. Don't worry. It may be unconventional but means I can manage symptoms and do things I otherwise wouldn't be able to. It is my normal."
1/3 As it is #AutonomicDysfunction awareness month, here are some of our cards that explain some of the practical realities of living with #AutonomicDysfunction, including #PoTS:

My personal timeline is full of autistic people trying to explain that there isn't more autism than before, it's just that we're better at detecting it, and there's nothing more autistic than hoping explaining something at length will help matters when nobody is really listening.

The “problem” with vaccines? They so effective at preventing deaths that they create generations of people that question whether disease was a problem in the first place because they have never experienced the horrors of a world without vaccines.

Happy to share that ‘Disability and Constitutional Legitimacy’ is forthcoming in the Washington L Rev. it argues that because disability is constitutionally different, disability preferences have some chance of survival, even today. papers.ssrn.com/sol3/papers....

The template is from The Office. Andy (labeled as "my professor") says "you can call me Neil." Jim (labeled as "me") says "No, I'm not going to call you that."
It's a respect thing. 🤷♀️ Sorry, you're getting called "Professor" at least until I graduate. Probably even after.

Kennedy Issues Demands for Vaccine Approvals That Could Affect Fall Covid Boosters
The plans amount to an extraordinary flex of Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s power as health secretary to make decisions ordinarily left to career scientists at the Food and Drug Administration.
The COVID vaccines have been taken by billions of people, saved millions of lives, and are some of the most rigorously tested medical products in history.
Someone who has zero experience in vaccine development should not be influencing the approval process. This will kill people.

Do not normalize children dying from measles. Measles was previously eliminated in the US, thanks to vaccines.
When children die from measles, it means that adults have catastrophically failed to protect them because they have rejected basic science.

Caving to Trump's demands, Columbia University says it will ban mask-wearing
Enforcing such an order while allowing exceptions for health can be a dicey matter.
This is a disgrace. I’m high risk and wear a mask. This ban will hurt high risk and immunocompromised people without accomplsihing anything useful. Medical masks are terrible at obscuring one’s identity. It’s transparent ableism. www.motherjones.com/politics/202...

Research librarians are the best! You spend hours looking for a source only to come up empty and then they’re like “here are 10 sources. Idk if it’s enough, I could find more if you need.” so helpful and amazing!

Read the Resignation Letter From Hagan Scotten
Hagan Scotten, an assistant U.S. attorney, wrote to Emil Bove, acting deputy attorney general, refusing to drop the case against Mayor Eric Adams.
The lead prosecutor on the Adams investigation - Hagan Scotten - resigns from SDNY.
“I expect you will eventually find someone who is enough of a fool, or enough of a coward, to file your motion [to dismiss Adams charges]. But it was never going to me.”

Does this answer apply to all states or is there something special about TX? I see so many lawsuits coming out of TX so I could see how it could be more conducive to an appellate practice than other states. But can one have a successful appellate practice in any state?
