The Chartists, an enduring reminder that change is possible and vitally important, even when (at the time) you don't 'win'.

This is what I try to always tell people: food banks can do way more with your money than you can, due to bulk buying deals. And they can do way, way more with your money than with the canned goods you didn’t want to eat

One of the most important provisions of the ACA was eliminating pre-existing conditions exclusions from insurance plans.

Folks need to be reminded that if the ACA goes away, so does that provision.

My mom has suggested that since they played two whole games last night, maybe the Dodgers and Blue Jays could just meet up and flip a coin tonight and we can all get some sleep.

At first I was pleasantly surprised that I got home from a long marching band event and baseball was still going on. But seriously, now.

Such a great point. We’ve been dubious about property tax props because they’ll let school funding become conditional. But, of course, why would we trust any board appointed by Patrick? It’s hard to break the habit of assuming our reps are working in good faith.

The Trump admin has also cut off shipments of foods to foodbanks nationwide at the same time, which will be the first place many SNAP recipients will look to. They know what they need so donations of $$ is much better than random things from your pantry. Toiletries always good to give though.

One was a Levi’s cropped jean. The other was NYDJβ€”which I’d never heard of, but it seems they have been around a while. I found them both at Dillard’s. :)

Bring back small phones! This is my iphone 13 mini. It is a perfectly-sized phone. But it's going to die - in a few years, Apple will stop supporting it w/updates. Yet there are now NO new smartphones to buy on the market that fit the human hand. www.ft.com/content/6332...

I agree about smaller phonesβ€”my hands are small & I always choose smaller when I have to upgrade. BUT I got new jeans recently & was pleased to find the pockets bigger than expected. Not deep but wideβ€”almost the full width of the front. Holds my phone horizontally plus a few others things. Exciting!

Some real generational tells here to describe Christopher Lloyd like this

09.09.2025 13:08 β€” πŸ‘ 43    πŸ” 4    πŸ’¬ 6    πŸ“Œ 0
Christopher Lloyd as Reverend Jim Ignatowski in the TV show Taxi. He is pictured waist up, unshaven, with messy hair (not short), wearing a light blue work shirt and a light blue work jacket. His arms are extended to the sides and his facial expression is mouth slightly downturned as if he’s thinking, β€œWhatever.”

Rev. Jim is philosophical about it, though.

More than 300k Black women being pushed out of the labor market while white men gained 365k more jobs is what we mean when we refer to racism as systemic.

An abiding mystery of the French Revolution is solved β€” by epidemiology The period of panic and unrest called the Great Fear was triggered by deliberately spread rumours, according to methods borrowed from pandemic playbooks.
