Parliament, in 90s-10s, made various laws that no one, including transphobes, may discriminate against trans people.

The Supreme Court says, actually, that transphobes can discriminate and also demand that others discriminate.

The High Court says, actually, no, there are simply no laws.

Zack Polanski on how Keir Starmer could have changed the April 2025 UK Supreme Court ruling to protect trans rights (EXCLUSIVE) Zack Polanski revealed how Keir Starmer could have acted to protect trans rights after April 2025 UK Supreme Court ruling.

There are three issues in @zackpolanski.bsky.social’s piece

1. Exposing how transphobic this Labour β€œgovernment” is.

2. Showing his support for trans people when we need it.

3. Exposing the Starmer regime’s dishonesty; how they pretend to be constrained by the Supreme Court when they are not.

Labour was built to give workers a voice and fight for a better deal. Workers' are scratching their heads with the lack of delivery over the last 18 months. Labour need to stop being embarrassed about standing up for workers and communities.

Seeing an English TERF celebrate a doctor being run out of town for being trans, and thinking about that post saying that maybe the rest of the world is fine in Children of Men while Britain just decided to be like that.

She’s a quack. She was handpicked by the Tories to give them a pretext to ban medical care for trans people. She delivered the outcome they wanted.

This is now literally the lead story on BBC News Scotland. The employment situation of a private individual harassed via lawfare is deemed the main headline for national news. This is genuinely sickening. The media is a cancer upon this country.

Whether or not some Green Party policies are daft - and this is coming from a Labour Party which has Sensible Policiesβ„’ like cracking down on transgender people - it’s a bit much to insist that people can hold their nose and vote Labour to keep Reform out but not hold their nose and vote Green.

If Starmer really thought the Greens were a national security threat then he wouldn’t have spent the last two years calibrating his politics to persuade people to vote for them.

As a Labour MP said to me last week: β€˜obviously if you get 34 per cent you need to ask β€œhow to get more votes” and we basically looked at three groups of voters, for different reasons it offended the egos in No 10 to go after them, and here we are’.

I mean, this is true.

Why Labour bet the farm on a (largely fictitious IMO) β€œRed Wall” demographic I’ll never know. We’re almost 2 years in, just what is it that sensible centrists see in the next 2 that’ll turn the ship around?

Great letter setting out the positives from today's GLP vs EHRC ruling.
Phillipson must now do what we've been asking for all along: send the draft Services Code of Practice back to the EHRC to be re-written to explain that trans inclusion in gender-aligned services remains entirely lawful.

Trans people facing β€˜workers’ rights crisis’ after latest ruling, campaigners says But a High Court judge said service providers should be β€˜guided by common sense and benevolence’ when providing toilet facilities to trans people

β€œThe High Court has clarified that trans people should not be forced to use facilities in line with their birth sex, but it is hard to see how treating us as a β€˜third sex’ at work aligns with the privacy protections in the Gender Recognition Act or the Human Rights Act.”

We must make law better.

We've written to Bridget Phillipson to point out she's legally obliged to reject the EHRC's draft guidance

The Government committed in its manifesto to β€œremove indignities for trans people”. We're asking that they take steps to protect the trans community & correct what the Supreme Court got wrong

We're also getting questions about what the decision means for service providers whose toilets are also used by employees. The High Court doesn't deal with this - and frankly the law is a terrible mess - but the safest (and frankly the most efficient) thing to do is make all toilets unisex.

"Dangerously misrepresented"

Today, the High Court ruled that bathroom bans in the UK are not required following last year's Supreme Court decision

However, in a ruling which significantly damages Trans+ rights, this conclusion differs in workplaces, where exclusion will be lawful

How and why?🧡

Isn’t standing up against transphobia.

Actually?

Labour have actively chosen to make it worse.
