Itโs arrived!
12.12.2025 00:01 โ ๐ 24 ๐ 4 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 1Three weeks ago I was told my book would be featured in the university's newsletter and today I was told it would be "revisited" in a few months because they now require supervisor approval for any books related to AI. LMAO
06.12.2025 00:31 โ ๐ 18 ๐ 3 ๐ฌ 2 ๐ 1Since October 2023, Israelโs infrastructure of displacement in Gaza has consisted of so-called โwarningsโ, โevacuation ordersโ, โsafe corridorsโ, and โsafeโ or โhumanitarian zonesโ. FAโs research has revealed these to be little more than performative displays of compliance with long-standing humanitarian and legal norms. In practice, these mechanisms of forced displacement sow terror among the population of Gaza, as unreliable and often uncontradictory orders issued by the Israeli military leave civilians with impossible choices, and surrounded by danger, even after the โceasefireโ of October 2025. In this narrative study, Forensic Architecture documents the story of Nadia* and Ahmad*, a young couple from Beit Hanoun whose experiences tell an individual story of how this โhumanitarian violenceโ unfolds.
Incredible project.

05.11.2025 04:39 โ ๐ 1159 ๐ 206 ๐ฌ 6 ๐ 23Ranking member of the House Homeland Security Committee Bennie G. Thompson said in a statement โMobile Fortify is a dangerous tool in the hands of ICE, and it puts American citizens at risk of detention and even deportation.โ He also said โICE officials have told us that an apparent biometric match by Mobile Fortify is a โdefinitiveโ determination of a personโs status and that an ICE officer may ignore evidence of American citizenshipโincluding a birth certificateโif the app says the person is an alien. ICE using a mobile biometrics app in ways its developers at CBP never intended or tested is a frightening, repugnant, and unconstitutional attack on Americansโ rights and freedoms.โ
New incredible detail here: ICE says a match in its facial recognition app Mobile Fortify is a "definitive" determination of a person's status, and that this overrides birth certificates. This is an app ICE is using in the field to scan people

The selected quote reads: I tell you this story because I think so often we encounter archives when we are liminal, when we are in between. When we are moving or searching for ourselves or for the truth in the past, sometimes in our own past. When we are looking for a way home. It turns out teetering towards fascism is beyond liminal. If a liminal space is a train station, we seem to all be collectively in limbo, unending uncertainty on the lip of hell. In a haze of epistemological dissonance we witness the shredding of the past through a looking glass so cracked that even the history repeating itself is unrecognizable.
