My post yesterday on the $Ibn Trump legal threat against the BBC has been picked up by newspapers around the world. It would appear few had gone through the letter and spotted that, well, it contained no evidence in support of its claims of damage.

Labour once avoided wrapping itself in flags, standing for solidarity beyond nationalism. Now every party seems to stage backdrops like something out of the 1930s — all symbols, no soul. When did politics become a competition in flag-waving rather than ideas?

The more I think about her actual words, and how appallingly under-reported/understood they still seem to be, the more shocked & disgusted I am.

When the far right invents or exaggerates bad behaviour by their foes - see ‘cancel culture’; threats to free speech; anti-fascist violence; financial corruption; cronyism etc - they do so to preemptively excuse their own far worse & blatant abuses in exactly the same spaces.

The man whose presence might lead to Tel Aviv football fans being “falsely associated with his far-right activities,” has just visited Tel Aviv as an honoured guest of the Israeli government. Riddle me that.
