It’s so awesome IRL. Photos don’t do it justice.

Also the hoodie is so comfy. It’s a shame it’s 90degrees out for the foreseeable future.

I couldn’t believe our friend was able to pull this off. So happy.

Thanks to our friend who went to ComicCon, I procured one of the most coveted 7” vinyl promos & sickest hoodies out there: Nine Inch Nails’ single β€œAs Alive As You Need Me To Be” from #TronAres. The B-side is a Wendy Carlos inspired instrumental, β€œBuilding Better Worlds.” πŸ–€

Great work on the restoration! I’d seen this on 35mm a few years ago at the New Bev but it was missing a chunk of frames due to a reel change over (When Chow Yun Fat shoots the bullet). So it was wonderful to see such a clean copy.

Was this a new translation too? I think a friend mentioned it was

The first season of that show was absolute gold.

#Together comes apart, talking out of both sides of its mouth depicting mental illness & co-dependency issues. Rootable interest courtesy of Dave Franco & Alison Brie, for sure. But it doesn’t go full throttle on gore, nor hidden horrors of coupledom. Values dark comedy over unnerving dread.

I can’t recommend it. But I understand when curiosity gets the better of you (me!).

Wish this leaned more into it being a Death Becomes Her for him. That’s the lone glamor shot of him tho.

I wasn’t even charmed by him in this. He gave us nothing.

#DeathOfAUnicorn: The 1st time filmmaker fails to show us why we should care about his 2 protagonists. The 1st hour is a slog w/ its rote eat-the-rich setup before the 2nd hour begins, riffing reductively on JURASSIC PARK. Cinematographer Larry Fong understood the assignment tho.

Cinematographer Brandon Trost makes #TheNakedGun look like a real movie, delivering impeccable work. He shot the shot outta it. Composer Lorne Balfe’s score made it sound like a big Mission: Impossible event film. AND Brian Scott Olds editing felt absolutely inspired by those classic ZAZ comedies.

THE NAKED GUN is indeed fantastic. It’s about time we have a silly comedy in theaters. I laughed for too long at jokes (β€œYou can’t fight City Hall” β€œNo. It’s a building.”), I missed others. The weekend getaway sequence had me in hysterics, as did Pamela Anderson’s jazz song.

I’m sad my hate watching of #AndJustLikeThat has an expiration date. It really brought this nation together when we most needed it.

It’s one of my favorites too. But I have 4 choices only and these are the most haunting ones that relate.

The entire #AndJustLikeThat series has been an embarrassment (…of riches). I’m not sad to see it go (….I’m despondent).

β€˜My Oxford Year’ Review: Sofia Carson Learns Lessons of the Heart in Netflix’s Disheartening Weepie An ambitious American has her pursuits upended after meeting a charming British cad in Netflix's mediocre 'My Oxford Year.'

#MyOxfordYear: What should be a tender, feminist-minded story centered on a young woman rediscovering her dormant childhood dreamer turns into a middling melodrama about being with a cute guy in desperate need of her rescue.

My review will publish next week, but…y’all I LOOOVED #Sketch. It’s super funny, imaginative, charming & poignant - like if Amblin joined with Pixar to make a comedic, heartfelt creature feature. A sublime family-friendly film that doesn’t condescend to kids, nor adults.

The Invention of β€œSesame Street” Renata Adler’s 1972 review of the program that revolutionized children’s television.

β€œSmall children from poor or middle-class families who watch β€˜Sesame Street’ do better on cognitive tests and in first grade than children who do not watch it,” Renata Adler wrote, in 1972.

Imagine seeing AVATAR world-building introductions in The Sphere. It would blow your mind. Like seeing in color for the first time. Payakan in his full glory!

Backstreet Boys’ show sorta mimics what it would look and feel like. [not my video]

Someone show James Cameron this

It would be so sick to see James Cameron make an AVATAR movie exclusively for The Sphere.

*That’s* what they need to do. NOT use AI to upconvert a - now - untouchable classic like Wizard of Oz.
