btw, this is something I was referring to in a previous post, about how movies/tv from just a few years ago (the early 20's) regularly featured trans & enby characters simply as a matter of course. It wasn't a "big trauma thing," it was just part of who they are, & accept it.

Based on a recommendation by @jeremywhitley.bsky.social , Io & I just watched Darby & The Dead. It is a completely delightful movie, very much Mean Girls meets Ghosts! Fun & sweet, lots of heart. AND bonus of @nicoleamaines.bsky.social in a supporting role. Always love seeing her!

Something missing from the convo around libs turning on Greta Thunberg - Autistic traits in girls once seen as precocious & full of potential are unacceptable for adult women. Even if she'd stuck to environmental concerns, her passion, detail, & thorough communication style would be hated.

Yes! It is always good to be vigilant, but there is also the concern that a legitimate, important call or email alert will register as spam & be ignored. And as the hoaxes become more sophisticated, the greater a concern that it. Double checking to confirm is time-consuming, stressful & exhausting.

We "celebrated" by getting our stove, which decided to start leaking gas when turned on, repaired. Good times, yes indeed.

Honestly, it has been a bumpy ride through some hard times, but would have been far worse if still in SF.

A reminder: When household stuff breaks & you want to attempt repair rather than replace, hire a local, independent person *recommended by someone you trust* rather than going through a large corporate entity. And pay cash if you can, & tip the person.

That's what makes me think it is poor acting, b/c it seems like these supposedly smart young women wouldn't buy into such obvious bs.
There's another actor on the show who also seems fakey, but every now & then she has these sincere moments that ring true so I know it's the character, not the actor

There's a show I watch, & there is one actor who is so incredibly fakey, that I honestly can't tell if the actor is THAT bad, that NOTHING he says or does seems real or sincere, or that the character is completely smarmy & insincere, & the actor conveys that well. Yet the 2 girls he's wooing buy it!
