Heh. G arrived home with his laundry today and put it in the washer, then went to the hamper to see if he could add anything (As IF). But it turned out I'd forgotten to throw my jammies in my load this morning, so there Was something I could add! (Yay, so glad you got to laundry and vegging :)!)

It's such a nice airport! Even when things looked dire, they organized and got us through customs in plenty of time for our flight. Flying through it made me want to actually visit some day! Hope your flight home is relatively easy!

It was awesome weather for it, and it sounds like your body gave it your all. Go you! I hope you get to return for more!

Such a good protest here in Boston today. Multiple bands, so many inflatable chickens and some frogs and unicorns and Cartman (???), great signs, great weather, angry and joyful and as I left a little early the roar of the crowd from blocks away was terrifying and awesome. Power to the people!

So if things come in threes, the deaths should stop now that mom, G's ex, and my SIL's dad have all died in ~3 months, right? I mean, we're extremely fortunate in that (other than mom) these deaths only cause tangential effects in our lives. Still, here's to good health all around, folks <3.

Ooh, yes. I used to follow Newfoundland Dog breeders in several countries, so I usually had a bunch of puppies in my feed (along with a lot of wildflowers, trees, and fungi). A stellar social media experience!

Eeeeenh, I certainly wasn't Not an ass, either, she was pretty kind - I've experienced stern Russians, and she let me off easy. Along with being shushed for being loud at breakfast at the Lithuanian Ligation, it taught me a Little about not being an ugly American - good lesson!

I was trying to be considerate, wondering if I should offer up my seat? And this was after a kind soul rescued me when I took the totally wrong subway line and got hopelessly lost, too. Everyone was so kind to me... except when I was a complete and total ass. 💕

I have never been smaller, even when born premie. I think she was Slightly consoled by my beet-red mortification. (I'd learned that many a street vendor spoke impeccable English from their engineering PhD schooling, etc, how could I NOT realize "babushka" would be understood by Everyone? Ugh.)

I first learned it to mean a kerchief headscarf and loved them for hippy/Russian reasons. But that reminds me my biggest embarrassment in Moscow: asking my colleague Alex on the subway, "should I give the babushka my seat?", whereupon she replied in perfect English "I am Not a babushka!" 🫠

A good closet clean is such a good thing! I hope you get to enjoy more space and a sense of feeling lighter!

Oooh, exciting! I've wanted to go ever since seeing Sara Polley in No Such Thing - the monster lived in Iceland and I wanted to spend more time around his cave, cuz it was gorgeous. I hope you get to float and see awesome waterfalls and northern lights and have a blast!

I'd cut my hair a good bit shorter after mom died (she had complicated hair feelings, mostly that long was best), and didn't love it. So I went even shorter yesterday, and though this isn't a great pic? It's making me So much happier. Here's to being comfier in our own skin/hair <3.

Yeah, be kind to yourself! I felt pretty crummy on day one ofter the latest combo shot, finally realized I wasn't doing myself any favors by saying "you're not even really sick, body!" over and over 😅. If you can nap, much recommended ❤️.
