The "50 Years of PUNK" show opens tonight (11/28) at the Ki Smith Gallery, 170 Forsyth St. on the LES. We got a sneak preview as John Holmstrom, the co-founder, editor, and illustrator of PUNK Magazine, and Ki Smith set up the show. Up through Jan. 11. Weds-Sun noon-6.

A mural outisde the 2nd Avenue F stop in the East Village pays homage to They Live, a 1988 American satirical science fiction film written, directed, and scored by John Carpenter. The mural shows a ghoulish, bug-eyed alien hiding under a human façade.

Went to 'Desperately Seeking Susan' (Rosanna Arquette, Madonna, Aidan Quinn) at Metrograph on the Lower East Side on Monday night. (The 40th anniversary?!) Have seen it before, but it's always a blast to experience it in a full auditorium. People were really into it. The film holds up well.
