Take a few minutes to appreciate Drew Struzan creating the original artwork for THE PHANTOM MENACE. Truly a master at work.

I really dug that book of portraits he put out from the movie.

I think the Borg are the same but just have zero interest in getting involved in all that Empire shit. They're fine just hanging out in the Delta Quadrant.

The twin idea is interesting, I never really thought of that (I know the father and uncle are sometimes played as twins).

In Sit Down Shut Up, there were posters on the walls saying "Students; don't date teachers!" and "I might seem worldly, but I'm poor!"

I have a soft spot for W because it's the first one I actually finished, and I adore the chemistry between Shotarou, Philip and Akiko (and I just love Akiko in general, she's such a wierdo). Everything about that series is just perfect.

I don't know why but this vaguely sounds like the premise of a Ray Bradbury Theater episode

Missed opportunity of the week, my friend.

This was Clu's plan in the last Tron movie and it seemed stupid to me then because 1: materializing ONE Recognizer into the basement would cause the whole thing to collapse, destroying the laser and computer and 2: Anything from the Tron world won't work in the real one because physics exist here.

I *think* what makes them work is that they're not in your face or trying to be cool, which I think other SF designers lean into (and certainly a trap I would fall into).

The Thinking Cap logo is literally a lemon with a peel spiraling off of it, how perfect. And I never even really spotted that before.

I'm probably in the minority but I do really like the production design of this movie, it's not quite minimalist, it's more uncluttered and straightforward.

I do love logos and iconography, it's just that it's something AI uses a LOT to create the impression of detail and reality. So now, it's something I'm trying to use sparingly, if at all.

Watching Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy for the 8 zillionth time, though maybe the first time since I decided to avoid logos in my own design... and appreciating all the little logos and stuff they use to add detail to this world.

I just went through some of my old comics and was astonished how bad they were, totally lacking in story, stakes, humor, or appeal. The fact that I came from THAT and have my current skill sets is astounding.
