28.11.2025 14:58 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I had this happen to me with Prolific back in the spring. Paid a couple hundred $ for responses on an instrument that worked well pre-AI, and over half of the new batch was totally worthless slop. Customer service was worthless.

08.11.2025 23:10 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Plenty of industries are getting stalked by AI right now. But if AI is the lioness, universities are the already-sickly members of the herd lamely trying to outrun her.
(Also, I started a personal blog. It's 2008, apparently.)

Their approach showcases the importance of experimental and evidence-based public policy:

A common misunderstanding people have about finding a calling in life is that a calling means being free from any frustration, mundanity, or discomfort. The things worth doing *all* involve work that is, at times, unpleasant.
Better advice is to follow your blisters, not your bliss. #fromclasstoday
You might have heard this before: βChoose a job you love, and you will never work a day in your life.β I think that's wrong, and misleading. #fromclasstoday
25.09.2025 23:08 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I love this study showing that when people ask "What could I do?" instead of "What should I do?" they come up with more AND ethically stronger options. The authors call this moral insight, a way of seeing past the first options that appear in a dilemma.

In a dilemma, it feels like you're choosing from a list of premade options. But that's not how decisions really work. The given options can almost certainly be improved.
Making decisions means *making* them, like crafting an outcome that upholds what you value most.
That sounds even cooler!

During this period on the Fortune 500, Polaroid went from 480 to 205. Polaroid was an incredible company in its prime. And that's because Edwin Land, its CEO, knew where the real bottom line was.

What most people don't know is that Polaroid was a pioneer in creating a workplace where people could flourish. These slides show the Two Aims of the company, and here's what these aims led to:
