It's been a while! I have been busy navigating adding a new animal to the family...!
Here is a new post from me: "Navigating Relationships, Friendships and Workplace Environments as Autistic People"

Governments should not just apportion taxes to provide for the care of people. Humans are not more important, valuable or worthy of life than other species. Governments should also be allocating funds for the care of animals, where people cannot afford to provide that care themselves.
06.01.2025 11:21 β π 8 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0If your neurodivergent child is dysregulated, try running a bath or shower for them. If I am dysregulated, I try and force myself to take a shower. I never feel like I have the energy to, but the water provides a kind of reset and afterwards I am gently restored and rebalanced. The same thing is true for my children, although they prefer a bath. If my children request a bath, it is often an ask for help re-regulating. And if I can, I run it. I run a bath or take a shower at any time of day, regardless of normal schedule. Many times in this house over the years, water has prevented a meltdown. All three of us have different sensory profiles, yet water somehow is effective for all three.
20.12.2024 17:33 β π 8 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0It's not a great combo having ADHD *and* PMDD week the week before Christmas.
I just ordered 3 important Christmas presents.
Will they be there on time?! No they will not ππ
Thank you, he seems on the mend
20.12.2024 13:57 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Just in case you needed reminding: it's not your job to fix everything.
It's ok to pick your battles and decide which hurts to mend. There is so much needing attention. We can't heal the world, but we can make a real difference when we focus our attention wisely β€οΈ
I thought he got frustratingly cartoonish in A2A, especially the 3rd series, & then it was all explained by the ending. So clever!! Alex is a frustrating character to me. Victim of sexist writing IMO.
19.12.2024 05:13 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0He does have a cut by his eye, he was very lucky it seems to have missed his eyeball. I've taken him to vet and he's been checked over. His tummy is pretty upset which I'm guessing is the stress etc βΉοΈ
19.12.2024 05:12 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Thanks, me too. He wouldn't eat his proper food tonight, only treats (it's good he would eat something eh). Grr to the owner of the other dog who was very irresponsible.
19.12.2024 05:04 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I just watched all of Life on Mars & Ashes to Ashes (British version) end to end. Have you watched it? What did you think? I did *not* see the end coming.
19.12.2024 04:56 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Picture of a small white poodle on a lead, this is Charlie.
I had a pretty weird day today. Charlie (our 15 yr old π) was attacked by another, bigger dog this morning. It's only happened 3x in his life. Last time was 9 years ago & it made him more anxious, I'm worried about him. Hold my little guy in your thoughts if you can.
(He seems OK physically π€)

18.12.2024 16:17 β π 7 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0That's so awesome! I love that you have that.

Very sad and grumpy boi today, I hope these naughty jumpy friends are gone soon πβ€οΈ
15.12.2024 01:00 β π 11 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Picture is a selfie of me in a jumper, wearing makeup and showing off my new haircut/colour.
I had a hair appt today. My hairdresser is ππ. She lives nearby (crucial as I don't drive), & has a salon in her house. It's really quiet, just us, meeting my sensory needs. I feel relaxed there & we talk really openly. It's everything, I looked a long time for a hairdresser I feel comfortable with.
15.12.2024 00:59 β π 30 π 0 π¬ 5 π 0Charlie dog, who is small and white, with short hair. He is standing with a pink unicorn toy in front of him.
The vet discovered Charlie has FLEAS... which makes a whole lot of sense of many of his symptoms. He also has been prescribed Librela as additional pain relief. Here he is after a haircut this evening (we cut his fur ourselves) β€οΈ
13.12.2024 22:49 β π 7 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I only discovered her with this article and I do now! β€οΈ
13.12.2024 22:47 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0He has a new pain relieving injection on board π and FLEAS (discovered by the vet but could explain many of his symptoms). Thanks for asking π₯°π₯°

We are on the bus to the vet again, in pursuit of more effective pain medication, and possibly a biopsyπ€
Wish him luck!
Yes - same. I'm 39 and it has impacted and limited me so much. Thank you π

13.12.2024 10:38 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I have a condition needing daily medicine (underactive thyroid). My father and son are reliant on medication to stay alive. I also live in England.
I have been following the current convo about healthcare in the US with interest and this article nails it π
I went out tonight. It was calm, I was home before 10, & I really enjoyed myself.
Now I'm wide awake at 1.45am, with an active brain that is processing & filing the conversations & the info from the evening.
I mostly avoid activities at night for this reason; it's very annoying!
