You could be right. I know that the number of aperture blades affects the number of points in the sunburst, but maybe it also affects the definition of those points, which is more my issue. They are quite faint rather than well pronounced. Could also be an editing thing, maybe

Thanks for your response. I did once read that the number of aperture blades affects the number of points in the sunburst, but my issue is more to do with the definition. Even when I use f16 the starburst is quite faint. But Iβm sure Iβll figure out the issue st some point. Thanks

Lovely photo. Any advice on getting the sunburst effect? I have a crap old Nikon D5600 but a decent 17-55 Nikon lens with polariser filter. I ensure the sun is partially obscured and underexpose the shot but never seem to get a nice burst effect. Is it likely the cheap body? Any advice welcome
