The Strasbourg bikeways are busy!

A city street lined with multistage buildings. The street has dark asphalt because it's newly paved. There's a big island in the street, dividing the near side wide bikeway from car lanes on the other side. A freshly painted crosswalk goes across all four lakes, bike and car.

I'm leaving Strasbourg impressed by all the newly built and heavily used protected bikeways.

My beautiful intercity bike route heading into Strasbourg (from Basel). The London Plane trees are numbered, the last number I read was above 1700.

Two matching body, sage-green apartment buildings, each 5 stories tall with corner balconies. They are surrounded by lots of space, with sidewalks and grass and a row of small trees with leaves changing color, two yellow one orange and a couple still green.

Possible, but highly unlikely.

People are moving out of CA due to housing costs, and zoning policies mean housing is less expensive in the south (TX & FL included). While not direct, net population flows are to the south.) The map reflects population share, or faster average growth, as the # of reps never changes.

A quiet european suburban street on a grey day. 4-story buildings line the street, which is narrowed here and there to make space for trees and benches. A swirly wooden slat art bench is in the bottom right of the photo.

Just another traffic- calmed street in #Zürich, this one in Oerlikon. Trees planted on varying sides create chicanes, benches invite lingering, polkadot remind drivers to slow down. Neighbors say space fills with kids and adults on weekends.

You’ve seen the video.
An inflatable frog at a Portland protest.
Unarmed. Unbothered. Unapologetically absurd.
And ICE panics.

They fire pepper spray up a frog caricature's ass.

The frog wins.

And, being chauffeured is relaxing.

Shown through a blue metal gate, the walkway is filled with silver and red metal stacks. Most are pipes. There is no clear walk space. The bottom of the photo shows a pile of metal plates outside the gate.

This is what I found when I returned to my #Zürich apt in the late afternoon. I leaned over a 150cm high pile of metal plates to take the pic. Accessibility is not even an afterthought. 2/2

A narrow gap between two buildings that is filled with piles of metal, the parts of an as yet inbuilt scaffolding. Stacks of flat metal panels, piles of metal pipes. There is no clear path.

This street in old #Zürich used to carry 20,000 cars a day. Since it became (mostly) car-free 20+ years ago it's most full off pedestrians, bikes, and trams.
