If McSweeney is still in post on Monday Starmer will be out by Tuesday.

Starmer’s ability and credibility to lead the Labour Party until 18 months before the General Election (at which point he hands over to Streeting) is entirely dependent on him firing McSweeney this weekend. If he dithers he’s dust.

The sense of impunity is going to have a hard landing when the cuffs go clink.
