Strangely silent.
Try the Literacy Councilโs Forget-Me-Not Books on Gaffney. Used books. I miss the heyday of indie stores everywhere.

Excellent piece in the Guardian by @climatehuman.bsky.social.
I wonder how thermoplastic would work as a filler between irregular stones and the setting?

04.01.2025 22:57 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Thatโs great news, though. Good you got it done so quickly. Hope the recovery is easy and fast.

04.01.2025 05:57 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Yup. It was a very old bear that had been breaking into cabins. After we got outta there and back to the truck, we heard him trying to get into a bear-proof trash can. Dan wanted to go back and look at him, but I told him to sit his butt *down* in the truck. ๐คฃ๐คฃ๐คฃ
04.01.2025 05:55 โ ๐ 3 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Wolf scat, down in Slana a few years ago. There was also a bear โ a big old smart bear that let us walk right by him without realizing he was there until we saw his tracks crossed ours on the way back. ๐ฌ I think I also have a pic of that. Will look.

08.12.2024 06:08 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Had mine with a flu shot Thursday and dang. Knocked me on my butt. And yeah, it did sting. Totally worth it, tho, no matter how punky I feel. 05.12.2024 07:35 โ ๐ 3 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0This is a really good thread on why these types of accounts exist and what the goal is! Manipulating the temperature of the conversation and setting people on edge serves a *lot* of purposes. #BadActorBingo

Individual Sphagnum mosses lack structure and are prone to stress and desiccation. As an intertwined community, they fight off massive wildfires and protect the worldโs largest soil carbon stock. They also nonchalantly preserve bog bodies.
Learn from Sphagnum. Be the Sphagnum.
Looking back at a snowshoe trail through tall spruce trees heavy with snow. Dusk.
Todayโs snowshoe trail at 4:11 p.m. Gorgeous, warm. About 10 below. Perfect. A lot brighter in the photo, but look at those blues! #AlaskaSky
02.12.2024 03:12 โ ๐ 11 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Photo taken from a window inside a dark room. Deep snow covers the ground and the spruce trees. About 12โ of snow is piled on the slanted roof of a small shed nearby, with a log doghouse and an outhouse similarly snowed in further away.
From my kitchen window.
02.12.2024 00:46 โ ๐ 5 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0It wasnโt. The snow still reflects what light there is. It feels like alchemy, somehow. Going out again shortly. Will be dark before I get back.

01.12.2024 21:51 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0This painting took nearly a year to complete. Over that year, the world has seemingly been spinning on an axis that we donโt read about in Astronomy books. Working on this painting was my reminder to hold on to the people and things that slow it all down and bring life back into focus.
