This means that the state police (and some other agencies) will no longer be empowered to detain and arrest people for ICE.

Will the Supreme Court support any hare-brained reactionary lawsuit against particular results? Yes.

Will the right use its near-total domination of media to spread endless lies about Democratic cheating? Yes.

Can Trump "take control" of 50 separate state-administered elections? No, obviously not.

Can he send ICE thugs to select, significant polling places? Yes.

Will at least some red-state officials bend or break rules to help Rs win? Yes.

Can they outright "rig the election"? No. But there's all kinds of bad shit they can do that could have significant effects at the margin, and there's no reason at all to think they'll refrain from doing everything they can.

I just have no time for "calm down" bullshit right now.

If a university student group had celebrated Charlie Kirk being killed, complete with a graphic made from an actual picture of the killing, the whole lot of them would have been expelled before the ink on the digital story was dry.
