What timeline are we on?

My mom once called me woke and I wear it like the badge of honor it is. Why? Because for most of my life, I followed the GOP agenda like it was absolute. But, after having kids and moving around to different states, I woke up. When you start to see the world through others, you change.

The level of absurdity within the investigation of Robinson, the administration’s reaction to speech, and directive to hunt left-leaning organization is maddening.

Losing jobs. Prices increasing. Wars extended or starting. He is in the files.

But look at the ballroom!

Okay. I am done with Threads. It is full of bot and people who fall for every headline thrown on their screen.

What is annoying to me? People who insult and use condescending language regard democrats but never want to have a conversation as to why. It is proof they only want superiority.

I should really get off of Threads. Way too many people simply ignorant and gullible.

Haven’t been on here in a while. My Threads posts have been pretty well dominated with comments by MAGA. It’s funny because they say liberals won’t have conversation but then just go and insult me when I try to have a conversation.

What going on here?

ICE is still legally detaining and deporting people.
Inflation is rising.
Tariffs are taxes on Americans.
The DOE still does not control curricula.

Don’t lose site on the bigger things while Trump tries to distract.

It was a meeting filled with “we need” but zero conversation about “this is how we do it.” No direction. Just the same upset and discouraged voices we hear everyday.

It makes me sad but also lit a fire under me to do something. Not sure what yet, but it has to happen.

Very little focused on the state. Most of the comments dealt with “you can’t talk to stupid people” even though we were encouraged to find a “project person.” The idea to find more people from affinity groups like healthcare, veterans, and teachers was suggested but no “how.”

The meeting was proof as to why the Dems lost the election. There was no direction provided, and ideas like “let’s get @governorwalz.mn.gov and @aoc.bsky.social to come give town halls.” Now, I am not against them coming but we need voices of Tennessee as our state is in massive trouble.

On Monday night, I attended the local Democrat party meeting for my community. It was concerning. First, at 45, I was the youngest in the room by at least 10 years. Second, the speaker was from @tndems.bsky.social and just wanted to brainstorm what the party can do to win. Not a great look.

Also, the State Party should be the ones giving ideas and advice, and not responding “we will see” when asked if they will also be writing to Governor Walz about visiting.

Maybe 5:30am wasn’t the best time to mass post.

The meeting was hard to sit through for me. It was more of the same talk. It was about the billionaires spending money in races, the problems with current administration, focus on how ridiculous the GOP. And no ideas on how to build the party.

If we can’t organize, we won’t win.

We need younger people getting involved. We must have fresh voices and ideas. But we must talk about every day issues. As James Carvel would say, “It’s the economy, stupid.” It is always that. As a party, we must focus on larger issues, helping all people while still fighting for those in need.

The State of TN is in trouble. The super-majority is lead by power-hungry conservatives who do not listen to the people. If the focus of the federal government is to return powers to the states, we must focus here now. We need @votegloriaj.bsky.social leading the ground game here.

But the overarching issue was talking to people about our beliefs. That is what got us here! The GOP won for two reasons.

1) They played the long game, planning this for decades.
2) They focused on issues that impacted all, not just some.

Now, to be far, I have only voted Dem the last two presidential cycles. But, it seems the group missed the mark on why they lost. We were encouraged to find a “project person” and convince them to vote Dem. The group asked to get @governorwalz.mn.gov and @aoc.bsky.social to host a town hall.

Yesterday: Grades submitted for half-semester courses. Dishes put away. Laundry competed. Went to the gym.

Today: I have the house to myself all day. Will make a run to Costco. Other than that, I have no idea what to do.

Why do so many band directors program terrible music for their ensembles?
