ππIβm mostly here for the bookish vibes ππ

03.04.2025 18:27 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Ugh, this will launch me into a rough book hangover, I just know it. This has probably been my favorite book of the year so far. Absolutely stunning; I donβt think Iβve thought so much about about how a book made me feel after finishing it. 5 stars for this gem.

Also, if you have the special edition, check inside the dust jacketβ¦. π€
13.03.2025 19:53 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0What a unique blend of sci-fi and fiction. Itβs a book within a book, a fascinating depiction of Nigerian and Nigerian-American culture (especially to this readers ignorant eyes), and an exploration of what it means to be a storyteller. Iβm still pondering the ending but I loved it. 5βοΈ

Ok, I have been plowing through Murderbot and this has been my favorite. How I love this series!
If you need an escape, these books are such a delight. Fun, emotionally intelligent, and well-paced to keep those pages turning. Excellent slump busters!

My third Austen this year. Classics have been a respite; I find it difficult to read anything set in more modern times, as they were written before all ofβ¦this.
Unfortunately, the plot of this book was so familiar (thanks Clueless!) that it wasnβt as engaging for me. Still a worthy read!

Iβm a couple of chapters in, I will honestly say that it is on the dense side. The magic system is on the βtechnicalβ side.
02.03.2025 21:38 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0What am I even supposed to read and or do when I finish the Murderbot Diaries? π Iβm on book 5 and Iβm so invested and immersed. The hangover is going to be brutal. π€

Physical - Blood Over Brighthaven
Audio - Jane Eyre
Enjoying both!
I would actually love a recommendation for an aromatic fantasy. I was excited that we might be one small step closer to smell-o-vision
19.02.2025 19:18 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Omg another snowstorm. The kids havenβt had a full week of school since early December. I love my kids but my god, I need some structure πππβοΈ
18.02.2025 15:09 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Well, itβs not THE goriest, but it was definitely more so than I expected. Some of the ways that people are killed (by way of βexperimentingβ with magic) was kind of a lot for me. I had to skim at times.
18.02.2025 12:58 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I began looking for a fun bookish fantasy, and ended it satisfied but also wondering why there needed to be so much death and gore. It almost leans into horror at some points, with truly evil big bads.
Sensitive readers, just know this isnβt a fluffy book about magic books. 3.75 stars

Ugh. These kids wonβt have a full week of school until April at this rate.
16.02.2025 21:16 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Iβve read Wuthering Heights and wasnβt a major fan of it. Iβll put persuasion on the list :)
16.02.2025 02:09 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Yeah, I tried a reread given that itβs been at least a decade(?) since Iβve read it and disliked it. I didnβt last long; itβs really not for me.
15.02.2025 15:23 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I enjoyed it but I admit to not adoring it. I took the Louisa May Alcott and LM Montgomery paths at the formative age when I likely would have enjoyed Jane Austen the most.
A bit late to the party but I wanted to at least give her a try given how revered she is.
As an elder millennial I cannot count the amount of times I have seen clueless π I may have even read the follow-on novels that were released after the movie came out
15.02.2025 02:06 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0If you mean Daphne Du Maurierβs Rebecca, I have read that one and loved it :)
15.02.2025 00:08 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Haha π I figure I have watched so many adaptations of Emma through the years that surely I can mark it as read?
14.02.2025 23:15 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I know I read Wuthering Heights when I was a late teenager going through a βIβll read the classicsβ phase. My memory isnβt pulling up much to recollect, I donβt think it was a fave.
14.02.2025 23:07 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Itβs not a bad idea to try them on audio; I know Iβve seen a few for free from time to time. Perhaps theyβd be easier to parse, I have to admit the language of the time is not always the easiest for me to read when Iβm a bit tired.
14.02.2025 23:03 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Iβll put that on the top of the list :)
14.02.2025 22:53 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I finally read Pride and Prejudice, my first Jane Austen novel. The bookish world seems to so often reference her; I always felt like I was missing something!
I feel kind of proud of myself for managing (to understand) a classic in these distracted times.
Which Austen to tackle next?
#booksky
Holy moly.
5 dazed stars.
Weβre with Ben, heβs on a path. He canβt leave the path or heβll die; but if he stays on the path heβll never die.
Not horror, not fantasy, itβs something else. I loved it.

Have you tried it out? Interested to hear how you like it!
12.02.2025 22:42 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Stay busy, stay productive (in some way, whatever this means to you), read tangible paper books, go on walks. Keep yourself plugged into the actual, real world where trees and animals live. Read the headlines but donβt dig in unless that story makes it past the 24 hour news cycle.
12.02.2025 22:40 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I keep going to bookstores and libraries to find this one and they never have it π
10.02.2025 16:05 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Congrats! It has been a tough, tough reading month for me. I just finished my first book of this month π
10.02.2025 11:38 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I was iffy on this one. The first half is bleak and as someone who has struggled with depression, really affecting. Not in a good way. While I enjoyed the second half, the bubbly lightness and tidy wrap-up required quite a bit of magical thinking.
Witty, insightful. Trigger warnings!
