Exactly this. I went through both uni and about 10 years of work before getting a formal diagnosis and even without meds (access to meds in Italy is highly regulated) the diagnosis alone felt like flipping a switch.

My suggestion to all indie devs approaching a publisher is: read the fine print. Most reputable publishers won't ask you to relinquish your decisional rights for publishing support - unless they're investing heavily into the studio or buying you out.

Yeah, this sounds like hearsay at best. I've worked with several publishers over the past 10 years and basically ALL of them had direct conversations with the developers before discounting a game.
