It is more complicated, but very well documented. The Azeris are using Russian gas to satisfy their own domestic demand and in turn sell their new surplus to the EU. They might be shipping it directly to the EU, but it doesn’t matter; EU money goes to Russia with an Az. cut.

They never did this. They sold weapons to Az. and Arm. Putin and Aliyev have been together for some time.

So just buy the gas directly from Russia. Don't hold your nose at one dictatorship over another. Anyway, the EU postures about Russian gas but still buys it via a semi hidden route.
