I appreciate the suggestion of mothership or free league's system but I don't have that kind of money for either. DND may be built for high fantasy but its workable beyond that with the right mindset and approach. The challenge of bending the DND structure to fit Aliens sounds fun to me.

I've really enjoyed running my first DnD campaign, and I don't think it's gone terribly, no one's ran away screaming at any rate.
Making stuff for my players and secret things, picking ambient music. Homebrewing a few creatures.

The problem with being sick and disabled in a not-immediately-visible way is that in order to get the help you need, people have to believe you when you say how bad things are.

But the minute you become sick and disabled in our deeply ableist society, no one sees you as a reliable narrator anymore.
