2/ native: team w Swift/iOS experience, app is UI heavy, only targeting Apple ecosystem, tight integration with Apple libraries, latest VisionOS features (Unity needs to implement so is always a little behind), need better native window/space management, easier app approvals, cheaper Unity Pro is ๐ฐ

depends on what you're doing but there isn't a big overhead. choosing which route to go can be a tough choice. here's my logic
1/ choose Unity: Unity based team, heavy game logic, reliance on Unity code packages/assets/extensions, AI Navmesh, Unity Physics, cross platform support, animation pipeline

so much of what I do relies on GPU instancing, it's a bummer RealityKit doesn't support generalized instancing on Vision Pro yet.. I started hacking together an oldschool method that technically works, but probably better to switch to Metal/stereo render targets or native with Metal/LowLevelMesh

have been working on a crazy pitch solely in Houdini for the last few months.. just fired up the Vision Pro and tried some of my tests from last year, almost forgot how amazing this device is. will set aside some daily dev time for AR and share findings
