FRANKIE UPDATE
This video by Ben Oakes is Frankie flying at Hayle Estuary on Sun at 12:30pm.
Helps show how she looks when flying & she appears much pinker in flight than we expected. Please keep a look out for her, especially anyone in the Newlyn & Longrock areas & Hayle >

Some people have asked what sounds do flamingos make. Turn up the volume on this video of Frankie and the flock filmed a while ago and you will hear their very nasal honking sound.

This morning our young flamingo Frankie managed to take flight from Paradise Park in Hayle despite having clipped wing feathers. Last seen near Porthtowan at 10.15am. Many visitors enjoy watching Ground Hornbill Angel and her mate Pierre patrolling their territory. On their walks they often pause, face each other and clash their beaks together in a quite alarming courtship behaviour.

They have a lot of character & are sturdy good-looking birds. Ours do not 'talk' but as you can see and hear, they make some very distinctive natural calls.

It is lovely to be able to see our Caribbean flamingos up close and watch them feeding and interacting with each other.

On our Fun Farm you’ll love meeting friendly miniature donkeys, sheep, pygmy goats, and our guinea pigs in ‘Pets Corner’. We have four pedigree Miniature Mediterranean Donkeys called Basil, Lily, Jasmine and Periwinkle.

The Blue-crowned Laughingthrush pairs are always in touch with each other, so listen out for their chirping contact calls when you visit.
