Yeah, hi, I’m a person with β€œmobility challenges” (excuse me while I hurl). What we want, by and large, are not expensive, heavy devices that will β€œhelp us walk again”, but ramps.

I know, it’s not sexy, as technology invented before Christ, but it is overlooked in favor of…this. Repeatedly.

Breaking: on two counts, the High Court has ruled that the Labour government's proscription of the campaign group Palestine Action was unlawful – a win for its co-founder Huda Ammori, who sought a judicial review of the ban

It's devastating to me how much public money is being wasted in the British legal system purely on maintaining maximally destructive stances on human rights in service to the political ideology of the regime.

Not to get too much on my "as a taxpaying citizen" high horse, but we should be all fucking furious that they're taking money from us that most of us want to go towards healthcare and housing and fewer people ending up desperate or unsafe, and instead they're spending it on making us unsafe,...

Technoableism:

"a classic form of ableismβ€”bias against disabled people, bias in favor of nondisabled ways of life. Technoableism is the use of technologies to reassert those biases, often under the guise of empowerment."

Dame Tanni Grey-Thompson, speaking in house of lords:

I would like to probe how the changes the noble and learned Lord has suggested relate to what was agreed in the other place. The amendments in the Commons were understood to introduce independent advocates as a mandatory safeguard. This is an area that many of us are concerned about, reflecting the fact that the individuals in scope may have substantial difficulty understanding the process or communicating their wishes. Under the noble and learned Lord’s amendments, a person is treated as having an independent advocate, even if the advocate is not present or involved in the decision-making process. The amendments do not require an advocate to be present when the co-ordinating or independent doctor meets with the patient, nor when the panel considers the case. Advocacy is therefore satisfied by instruction alone rather than active participation. In addition, advocacy is made conditional on request. The preliminary discussion may proceed without an advocate, and a qualifying person may refuse one.

Despite the concerns raised by Disabled people, and the trashing of what (should be) the principles of Independent Advocacy to support the *autonomy* of Disabled people, not a word from the advocacy sector.

I wonder who tender for these notional 'Independent Assisted Dying Advocacy' contracts πŸ€”

Used in children and adult social work, court reports and 'best interest decisions' for people deemed to lack capacity to consent, and built using tech developed by the abhorrent Open AI.

There are safeguarding cases where health and social care workers have been threatened by racists, putting Disabled and older people at risk of neglect and harm.

Labour are actively promoting organisational abuse on a systemic level.
