Anti-nature policies are a dead end for Labour.

You don’t secure lasting growth by risking long-term harm to the ecosystems we rely on.

The public knows this.

There’s no need for the Government to pick a fight with voters on nature.

It’s bad policy and bad politics.

Economic growth is still heating the planet. Is there any way out? Rising GDP continues to mean more carbon emissions and wider damage to the planet. Can the two be decoupled?

Why does the global economy need to end its obsession with GDP growth?

1️⃣ Growth does not equal wellbeing and equity

2️⃣ We are far from decoupling the stock of atmospheric carbon dioxide from economic growth

A great day for cheap power enthusiasts as 5GW of solar comes in at Β£65/MWh and 1.3GW of onshore wind comes in at Β£72.24/MWh. Both prices are in Β£2024 and are below the wholesale price, meaning that these projects will cut costs.

@heidialexander.bsky.social can you sort out the EV charging on the M4? We are EV users with 9 year old car, Type 2 connector which most cars can use. But service stations have hardly any such connectors. All motorway stations should have at least 4 22kV Type 2s. V close to your constituency!

For years, experts have warned that nature loss would become a security threat.

Now a national security assessment confirms it: biodiversity collapse risks food shortages, economic instability and global disorder.

Nature underpins our global safety. So why is UK Government failing to protect it?

Nature security assessment on global biodiversity loss, ecosystem collapse and national security This strategic assessment explores how global biodiversity loss and the collapse of critical ecosystems could affect the UK’s resilience, security and prosperity.

An across-government technical assessment published today recognises that "nature is the foundation of national security" and that "every critical ecosystem is on a pathway to collapse". A rational response to this would be to get very serious about nature recovery.

Sign the petition to end peat sales! No more delays: Let's get peat out of gardens once and for all. The time for uncertainty has ended.

It's ridiculous that the Government *still* haven't banned the sale of peat.

Peat bogs are still getting dug up and used for compost and in horticulture. Ministers say they'll ban it 'when time allows'.
