Like people go through fucked up things all the time and manage to make it but no one is ever like “thank you Clover the Rottweiler, I knew that chain was never going to hold you but what I didn’t expect was that you’d free me from *my* chains”

I just spent 20-30 minutes bouncing between Nvidia's account creation pages and failing email login-authentication links. Back and forth between the login page, clicking the verification link, and then the login page wants you to log in again...and again... Maybe browser issues?

Recently, my book THEY CALLED US ENEMY was banned – again – in Tennessee. Book bans are out of control. Huge parts of American history are being restricted. People need to realize that the people posting Facebook reels or TikTok videos “exposing” conspiracy theories are collecting fat checks from the views and engagement they bait from their posts. The current system rewards rage bait misinformation. It’s now become an industry.

Incontrovertible evidence, now, of *police* investigating families supporting their kids with gender affirming healthcare in the UK. For trying to do the best for your child, following best practice in most of the world, here you get a visit from the police.

Thank you, Wes Streeting.

The Telegraph today carries a news story about someone paying £7.4 million for a handbag (Hello, Lady Bracknell!). And an opinion piece describing a wealth tax as a ‘moral abomination’. What a time to be alive.

Abandon left-centre-right political alignments and focus instead on the cardinal points of a compass.

Another ‘Sheep graziers’ warning in place today. I don’t know why those graziers can’t keep their sheep to themselves. Haven’t yet seen any so far.

My father died at 79 from prostate cancer. It spread to his spine. He was dead a month after his cancer diagnosis. You can get a PSA test for under $100, so why not get one every year in old age? He had symptoms over years but the docs didn’t connect the dots.

A Two Thousand Year Old Warning about TRUMP
"A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within.
For the traitor appears not a traitor — He speaks in the accents familiar to his victims, and he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men.
He rots the soul of a nation—he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of a city—he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to be feared."
— Cicero, Roman Statesman

I'm wondering if it's humanly possible to be sensitive to gravitational waves, to the point where one becomes anxious, for no apparent reason. Like having a dicky knee that is sensitive to each passing cold front.

If you want a little more Andor before next week, you can see Gold Squadron transporting Mon Mothma and Erskin Semaj in S03E18 of Star Wars Rebels.

And Thrawn's Tie Defender zooms in!

(We see a different speech, but you can't predict something like Andor in your future!)

My father loved his cask wine. I think it was a French red wine he always drank, a Claret boxed by Chateau Carde b'Ord. Might have come with a matching scent - Eau de Chateau? Childhood memories of red wine, punctuated with blow up shiny, silver bags.

An absolute stonker of an episode! And not just because of what it says about Australia: it gives much to think about concerning how things are at home. Bravo to Alex FitzSimons (you need to listen to enjoy this reference, and listen you certainly should)

It’s a shame that two people, one stationary, the other running, do not see an asynchronous event from Andromeda. If they did we’d have a theory as to why people run late for appointments, whilst others, seated in a meeting room, wait for them.
