I adore Call It Love, but don't think it's a marker of good taste though. It's not prestige the way My Liberation Notes is (which I didn't enjoy and have to actively remember not to diss). I also didn't wholly love Little Women. (Don't tell anyone.)

Not really scary. The CGI monsters are obviously CGI and ghosts are humanized by being given backstories. I like it so far. The FL played by Bona is especially compelling.

Is it scary? I thought it was a fantasy! I'll be watching it later tonight though. Let's see how it goes. Not a fan of horror either.

I'm so late to this party, but the Apothecary Diaries is the best thing on my watchlist right now. You've got an FMC who's part chemist, part doctor, and all poison enthusiast trying to survive palace intrigues without getting beheaded. Maomao is my standard for historical heroines now.

My mistake. I went by the viki reviews which when they're positive latch on to the one aspect of the story they loved - namely they loved the pairing - and write about it with glitter and rainbows. 😅 Anywho I enjoyed a lot of it. Especially the firemen stuff.

He's an extremely talented actor & his chemistry with Moon Ga-young is clear, but he's been handed a 2010 inspired chaebol that he has to make look cool.

So, it's a mixed bag.

Can't wait for the character to drop the act and be the punk kid full time.

On the one hand he's a young man traumatized into hiding his real self, which makes him a terrible person whenever he feels his secret is threatened.

This is a great concept. Lots of scope for a redemption arc.

But on the other hand, the drama wants us to feel bad for him RIGHT NOW 🧵3

And yes he's perfectly cast as the adorable puppy faking the serious rich boy. I also understand that the chaebol sitting awkwardly on him is supposed to show that he's not really that guy.

BUT the writing is very inconsistent with his character. 🧵2

Watching My Dearest Nemesis and love Moon Ga-young as the brave, competent employee who needs the job but won't take power trips from her bosses.

Choi Hyun-wook though is a mix bag. His younger man, forced to hide a love of bad fashion + rock music, can't quite pull the fake stoic chaebol off 🧵1

Yup. Both women who dared to walk away from men loved them because they had other issues they needed to solve. It's so interesting that we will love the most villainous women but deeply hate one who doesn't go quickly into the happily ever after. 🙈

But I've found people loving a lot of female leads who are all of that.
