Brendon! I had success getting the circle pad in my original 3Ds replaced by sending it to a retro game store in Virginia called eStarland. Their website has repair services listed with cost. Might be worth reaching out to them.

I played it a couple times with a club copy. I think adding some color coded dice to communicate what each player can do, then the table can better connect that to how to deal with the situation that turn would have helped.

Bit of a shame that we can’t have the HD remaster and its QoL improvements. It’s still great though, and more preservation is good.

Just saw that my last post was about tennis, so here’s an update on that: I’ve been winning much more regularly, got to go to 3.0 Districts over the summer, and just a couple weeks ago defended four straight match points to win a singles match. Glad I have stuck with it.

I’m seeing a number of enthusiastic posts on social media about flipping the Christmas switch once the calendar hit Nov. 1. So I’m going with a conspiracy theory about the Christmas Industrial Deep State having plotted this all out months ago.

I’ve definitely trended in the direction of games with short rules explanations, but deep gameplay (so many of them are by Knizia), but I do think there are Euros out there that both have weight, reward learning, and have interestingn player jockeying. Barrage might be the best of that type imo.

I own the original carts already, but this kind of preservation is great to see.
