Jesus fucking Christ! Everybody already knows where they stand! It's not a secret, they say it all the time!

β€œHopefully the Republicans may hear us” may be the dumbest sentence I’ve heard uttered since her colleague from Maine said Trump β€œlearned his lesson” after his first impeachment.

I received this email about Democrats caving to end the shutdown from one of the SNAP recipients I spoke to:

The Heritage Foundation is a fascist antiblack organization.

I'm a SNAP recipient... for the last month I was tightening my belt, doing my best to eat cheaper and eating less so I'd have a little left over to help get me through when payments were cut. It was all for nothing. Fuck the dems who supported this.

don't just light up *their* phones; half of them are deliberately running cover for other senators who would have voted yes had they not been up in 2026.

call the likes of gary peters, schumer, etc too and absolutely let them have it

I have come to believe this as well. The list is too strange. I don’t think a majority wanted to cave, but many more than the 8.

If the rest don’t oust Schumer immediately, then the entire U.S. Senate sold us out. They think we’re stupid. It’s insulting.

Congress is shut down; Congress was already shut down. Congress shut down in 2016 after spending decades running on dying batteries until the invisible hand yanked them out for good. The mafia state was made plain; civics drowned in corrupt institutionalism. We were told to keep pretending representative government was real.

Remembering what @sarahkendzior.bsky.social said about the government being shutdown a long time ago in 2016 at the end of October.

Call the United States Capitol switchboard at (202) 224-3121 and they will connect you with your senator's office.

No matter how they voted last night, every one of them has a say in maintaining Chuck Schumer and Dick Durbin as their caucus leaders. Every one of them is accountable here.

We traumatized poor people. We traumatized mamas with babies who need help. Churches and food banks and good people put aside everything else to feed the hungry. We left SNAP more vulnerable for future predators.

Then we said we did that for no important reason. Just another cruel political game.

Not a political consultant but I’m not sure β€œstanding up to trump doesn’t work” is the best midterm message, even if if accurately represents senate dems position. Not much point in putting you in power then bsky.app/profile/atru...

Two-thirds of Democrats say their own party makes them feel frustrated. By far the most commonly cited reason is that the party is not pushing back hard enough against Trump. www.pewresearch.org/politics/202...

Go volunteer for a progressive launching a β€œhopeless” campaign against an extremely entrenched incumbent currently squatting in a safe Blue seat. The worst thing that happens, is that you drag the incumbent to the Left. Best case? Zohran Mamdani, who was polling at 6% in January.

American politics makes a lot more sense when you realize that the GOP is afraid of pissing off the GOP base, and the Dems are afraid of pissing off the GOP base, but neither party is afraid of pissing off the Dem base.

YouTube video by Chicago Tribune Pepper-sprayed Berwyn family rattled after getting caught up in federal β€˜blitz’

A baby was pepper-sprayed by CPB here in Chicago this weekend. A BABY. DHS says it never happened but here's the video evidence. It shows: "a masked, helmeted man pointing a pepper-spray gun through his open window and firing into the car."

These Dems aren’t afraid of being primaried. They aren’t afraid of calls to their offices.

They don’t care about social media posts.

They aren’t afraid of their base.

Yes we have a two party system.

But what other way is there to force immediate change but to withhold donating to the party?

The original Dem demands were:
1) Permanent ACA subsidies
2) Medicaid funding restored
3) No more blank checks for the regime (rescission)

They dropped Medicaid immediately. Went silent on rescission. Cut back to 1 year of subsidies on Friday. And surrendered today.

The Senate Democrats!

The model of holding individual senators responsible is broken here. The retirees clearly agreed to take the fall. Which is why the nos should get no credit for voting no unless they move to oust Schumer
