Yesterday, on behalf of City Council and Calgarians, I proclaimed International Holocaust Remembrance Day.

We remember the six million Jews murdered in the Holocaust and all victims of Nazi persecution. As antisemitism rises again, remembrance must come with action.

Together, they built a lasting legacy of philanthropy that strengthened the arts, hospice and health care, youth programs, and Jewish life in Calgary through the Osten-Victor Fund and beyond.

With deep sadness, I join Calgarians in marking the passing of Al Osten, a quiet leader whose generosity helped shape our city’s cultural and community life.

▪️ If it is stabilized, Thursday morning we’ll turn on additional pumps, which will increase the flow in the pipe.
▪️ It will take another 24 hours to stabilize again.
▪️ If that has happened, Friday morning we will turn on the final pump.

▪️ This morning we turned on the first set of pumps which begins the gradual introduction of water flow into the pipe.
▪️ We are now allowing the system to stabilize.

▪️ Crews have collected water samples from the refilled feeder main and confirmed it meets or exceeds drinking water standards set by Alberta Health Services and Alberta Environment and Protected Areas.
