Happy Heritage Day, Calgary! No matter where we come from, our cultures and traditions shape us for the better. For me, that includes Hungarian and Ukrainian roots: polotΓ‘s dancing, perogies, and a deep pride in where I come from. Let’s keep building a city that welcomes it all.

Calgary Traffic Counts System

I support industry best practices and as laid out in the Calgary Transportation Plan (CTP). Some interesting work is being done on that, and you can see more details on the City's methodology here www.calgary.ca/planning/tra... and here inrix.com/wp-content/u.... JF

This is about building a Calgary that works better for all of usβ€”whether you drive, walk, bike, or take transit.

Read the full plan here β†’ www.jeromy.ca/news-1/polic...

I’d love to hear what you think! Let’s get Calgary moving. #yyccc

βœ… Safer sidewalks and crosswalks near schools and parks
βœ… A public transit system that’s reliable, affordable, and safe
βœ… Long-term investment in freight and active transportation

17.07.2025 17:33 β€” πŸ‘ 6    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Here are some highlights from the plan:
βœ… Synchronize traffic lights citywide to reduce congestion
βœ… Complete the Green Line + direct LRT link to the airport
βœ… Faster pothole repairs and better snow clearing

17.07.2025 17:33 β€” πŸ‘ 4    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

My plan tackles both the everyday frustrationsβ€”potholes, red lights, snow clearingβ€”and the big picture: better transit, safer school routes, and long-term investment in jobs, freight, and active transportation.

Make transit better by investing in service, finishing Phase 1 of the Green Line, plan transit capital investment in lockstep with new neighbourhoods and sustained funding to the Low-Income Transit Pass.

Take politics out of active transportation funding, build more protected walking and wheeling infrastructure, expand secure bike parking and invest in Plus-15 network.

Move goods around the city more efficiently by implementing a Logistics Lab, investing in a Calgary Goods Movement Network, coordinating land-use planning for industrial zones and high-capacity infrastructure and more."

Bell: Calgary mayor's race heats up β€” Jeromy Farkas gets it from left and right Jeromy Farkas, running to be Calgary's mayor and the early favourite, gets shots from the left and the right as the election battle heats up

They see our momentum, all-star team, and signs going up across the city.

Instead of sharing their own ideas, they’re focused on tearing me down.

But this election isn’t about meβ€”it’s about all of us. Let’s build a city that reflects our hopes, not our fears.

We should all be asking:
❓ Why was this raise approved in secret?
❓ What public interest was served by keeping it hidden?
❓ What justifies such a huge increase?

This isn't how trust in government is built. #yyccc

If the City were a public companyβ€”and in many ways, it isβ€”we’d expect full transparency on decisions of this scale.

Calgarians deserve at least that standard. #yyccc

I’ve served as a City Councillor, CEO, and Police Commissioner. I know that some matters require confidentiality.

The approval was buried in months-old Council minutesβ€”vague, confusing, and passed via three secret motions moved by Councillor Sharp and seconded by Councillor Walcott.

The only reason we know? Journalists spent months digging. #yyccc

Chief Administrative Officer Annual Performance Review (Verbal), C2025-0452 - Regular Meeting of Council - April 29, 2025 Deputy Mayor Sharp called the meeting to order at 9:30 a.m.

That alone raises eyebrows. But what’s worse is how it happened: behind closed doors, with no public debate, and no clear public record.
