Logan and Jessica would also most likely have died from drinking the water in the pool they swim in.
Can't imagine living in a terrarium does much for developing a robust immune system for the outside world.

In the 30+ years of me watching Logan's Run ("the sexiest movie ever" - Ross Gellar) I've literally just noticed that the Jessica's life clock is green.
I'd always just assumed everyone's was red until it would start blinking before Carousel. π€¦π»ββοΈ
TBF you really only ever get to see Logan's clearly.
Not having watched Die Hard with a Vengeance since I was young I really only now appreciate now how much of a day John MacLean was having.
Not because of the terrorism, violence and death.
More because he had a massive hangover the entire time.
Is it an age thing where, while rewatching The Matrix, I'm overly distracted with concern for Carrie Anne Moss and how sweaty she must have been in all that lovely latex?

29.03.2025 10:50 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Finally watched The Omen & feel like a modern retelling is due where, in the current climate of psychotic religious zeal, misinformation & coincidence makes someone believe the President's son is the Antichrist and, encouraged by the echo chamber of social media, they set about murdering the boy
12.03.2025 21:37 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I adore Conan the Barbarian.
But I've always found it beyond disappointing that for the Schwarzenegger movie my brain made a connection I cannot unsee. That of Thorgrim and Rexor with 80s/90s comic duo Hale and Pace...
You're welcome...
Watching Nosferatu I cannot be sure if Count Orlok cooked a chicken for Thomas.
He does, however, have a large and impressive moustache.
So as far as accuracy to the important parts of the source material it's a give and take...
just posting this every day going forward

It's also C.M. Eddy's birthday.
My gift to myself to not feel some kind of obligation to read The Loved Dead...
For the love of Cthulhu stop making your protagonists cut their thumb, palms or any other dextrous appendages required for everyday use.
Injuries to them greatly reduce mobility.
The body is full of blood just screaming to be released & the back of your arm will be just fine with some bandaging.
There's something very comforting for me about 80s/90s sci-fi. No doubt it's a feeling of nostalgia for my youth.
I'm currently on a first tour ever of Babylon 5. I didn't connect with it at the time but it's already earned bonus points for having guest starred Jeffrey Combs in season 1!

It's clearly been some time since I watched it because I don't remember Francis Ford Coppola's Dracula being so ostentatiously silly, or having a somewhat stagey aesthetic.
Nevertheless I'm enjoying it & am pleased to report @strangestudies.bsky.social Dracula did cook Jonathan a chicken!
It's a new year and my first day back at work. So I've resolved to start as I mean to go on.
By updating my CV and looking for another job.
I'd love to wish everyone a Happy New Year.
But, frankly, given what's coming down the pike I wish that everyone's New Year is no worse than last.
I shall be spending New Year's Eve by myself this year.
But I'm nevertheless in good company. βΊοΈ
Uberto Pasolini's The Return is truly superb.
Taking a tale as old as time he makes it feel fresh & new, completely undercutting the heroism of Homer's heroic epic.
I was spellbound throughout & though I've always been a bit of an Odyssey simp I was nevertheless gripped at how it would unfold
And I arrive home at 2:05am after the 10Β½ hours it took to travel ~220 miles, giving me an average speed of approximately 21mph.
Thanks for that, fog.
God damn you Greig Johnson.
Now I need to go out and buy some Drambuie and Turkish Delight to appease the Minceman

The caption is "Will the detective investigating your murder be sad?" The Nordic territories are labelled "sad", Northern Europe is labelled "sad & wet", Eastern Europe, Southern France and Northern Italy are labelled "sad and drunk" and the Mediterranean nations are labelled "sexy". It's less funny when you explain it, to be honest.
Will the detective investigating your murder be sad?

- Pagers
- Fax machines
- Public telephones
- Smoking indoors
- Light security in airports
- White Americans being labelled as Terrorists...
A woman says "since coming out as Trans, I am finally indulging my instinct to wear a variety of cute lil' outfits." With a look of determination, she clenches her fist and says "I have now achieved even closer kinship with my greatest hero and role model." She tearfully salutes a massive shrine dedicated to Roger the Alien from American Dad.

Well done everyone @ Machine Games
I remember in the earlier days of Reddit someone posting The Mystery of Amigara Fault. It's the creepiest & most horrific thing I've ever read.
That it came to me uncredited, as though the fabric of internet itself were the author, revealing hidden & forbidden knowledge only added to its mystique
