Finally watched The Omen & feel like a modern retelling is due where, in the current climate of psychotic religious zeal, misinformation & coincidence makes someone believe the President's son is the Antichrist and, encouraged by the echo chamber of social media, they set about murdering the boy

It's a new year and my first day back at work. So I've resolved to start as I mean to go on.

Uberto Pasolini's The Return is truly superb.

Taking a tale as old as time he makes it feel fresh & new, completely undercutting the heroism of Homer's heroic epic.

I was spellbound throughout & though I've always been a bit of an Odyssey simp I was nevertheless gripped at how it would unfold

And I arrive home at 2:05am after the 10½ hours it took to travel ~220 miles, giving me an average speed of approximately 21mph.

Watching classic Christmas film Die Hard 2 it occurs to me how many archaic things would probably need to be explained to anyone younger than gen x:
- Pagers
- Fax machines
- Public telephones
- Smoking indoors
- Light security in airports
