From what I recall, Ippei uses it at several points to mean something akin to "illustrated by." His versions of Soseki have "原作 夏目漱石 / 漫画 岡本一平," though I suppose you could still interpret that as "cartoon." Imaizumi even uses it as a translation of caricature.

Everyone knows that MAN-GA actually comes from the Kojiki, when Amaterasu trapped herself in that cave, so the gods "distracted" (man/sozoro) her with her own "image" (ga), so that she would come out and restore light to the world.

That joy must not be sold. It must not be "privatised," made into another privilege for the privileged. A public library is a public trust. And that freedom must not be compromised. It must be available to all who need it, and that's everyone, when they need it, and that's always. — Ursula K Le Guin

I recommend cleaning out the grey part with rubbing alcohol. It does a lot to minimize the mold release smell.

Don’t feel like digging up the receipts but everything you’re seeing now, downplaying police violence and racism, purging schools of “woke” studies, showing a surge of civic and material support for police, were all suggestions made during the protests meant to quell them without answering any cause.
